  1. 'Exactly what Chelsea needed'published at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2023

    Fulham 1-1 Chelsea

    BT Sport

Former Leeds United player Lucy Ward on BT Sport: "It's all about the ball in from Mason Mount. It is so clever.

"It is a good instinctive finish and exactly what Chelsea needed.

"Mount has struggled for form, he has looked quite fatigued at times, but he is a special player. What a ball that was."

Perfect start to the second half!

Lewis Hall does really well to win a free kick on the left. Mason Mount whips the ball in superbly and it strikes the post but Kalidou Koulibaly is there to stab in.

This can't go on....Potter out...Pochetino and two new central defenders in! We've gone backwards under GP....arguably this is the worst chelsea team since the early nineties....

All these people calling for Potter to be sacked need to wake up and see the realisation of what Chelsea have been through as a club in the last 12 months and where they are now. Potter will rightly be there until next season at least, when hopefully he will have a lot fitter squad to pick from and the club in general will be in a much better place.

I’ve never been a sack-the-manager-after-10-games but the tactics are a mess week after week. We play Azpilicueta at right back. A man with no pace and no intent and we direct all attacking phases through him. No wonder we never create any chances. Someone has got to tell Potter he’s not Reece James.

  9. 'A harsh lesson for Hall'published at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2023

    HT: Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

    BT Sport

Former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill on BT Sport: "Chelsea started well. The chances that Fulham had have come from mistakes by Chelsea. Lewis Hall defended brilliantly initially but then you can't take those chances in that area of the pitch. It will be a harsh lesson for the young boy."

Tam: As much as it pains me to say but Azpilicueta is starting to look like a spent force. One of the issues for CFC is the lack of leadership on the pitch. He used to provide that but this season seems to have to concentrate more on keeping up with the pace of the game

Marc Quinn: I'm surprised with how many people are defending Potter. He's coaching this team and they've been terrible. There are some fabulous players at Chelsea. Remember this is the coach who put Sterling and Pulisic as wing backs.

  11. 'Chelsea aren't getting the fine margins right'published at 21:01 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2023

    HT: Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

    BT Sport

Former Chelsea winger Joe Cole on BT Sport: "Lewis Hall is going to make mistakes like that at his age. He's just got to clear the ball. Willian has been good. He's looked bright and sharp. Fulham have caused Chelsea all sorts of problem down their left wing.

"Chelsea have been brilliant in between the two boxes but in both they just haven't been clinical enough. They just aren't getting the fine margins right."

  12. Fulham lead at the breakpublished at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2023

    HT: Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Craven Cottage

Another tough 45 minutes for Graham Potter as his side find themselves 1-0 behind in a frantic west London derby - and the Chelsea boss will be frustrated as firstly Lewis Hall and then Trevoh Chalobah had chances to clear the danger before Willian scored against his old side with a deflected effort.

Fulham heading up to sixth in the Premier League as it stands but this one is far from finished. Joao Felix has been instrumental in everything good Chelsea have done so far, but defensively the visitors have been fragile.

  13. 'Chelsea look nervy'published at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2023

    Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

    Henry Moeran
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

It has been a really thrilling 45 minutes. There has been an intensity about the ground it feels like it's almost rocking the seats.

Joao Felix has been the standout on debut forcing two good saves out of Bernd Leno. Chelsea, have won just one out of their last eight in the Premier League and they look nervy.

  14. Felix watchpublished at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2023

    Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

Well, Joao Felix has been heavily involved in that first half but finds himself behind at the break.

He's got the highest xG of anyone - 0.77 - with Lewis Hall next on 0.27.

The forward has had five shots (shown by the circles below with the green on target, red off target and the blue blocked). That is at least two more than anyone else, and he's had the most touches of anyone in the opposition box too (five).

He's won three fouls (shown by the pentagons) and has completed 15 of his 18 attempted passes.

It's been a promising half from the Portugal international, but, like we've said about Chelsea so many times this season, the clinical edge has been missing.

Potter is an exceptionally good coach who is failing miserably at Chelsea, for a multitude of reasons. The scattergun recruitment since Boehly came in reminds me of Man Utd - no direction. The comparisons with Arteta are also ridiculous. Arteta turned it around quickly, Potter has overseen a long run of poor form. Sacked in the morning and Pochettino in if they have any sense.

Re. Ted (20.23) - I'm all for giving managers time but your comparisons don't really help Potter. In their respective first seasons, Arteta won the FA cup, Pep finished third in the league and Klopp got to a European final. Can't see Potter achieving similar this season.
