SoundofSugar: Great coaches make a difference to a football team straight away. Look at what Eric ten Hag is doing with Man United, Conte at Spurs, Eddie Howe at Newcastle…. Potter is not the man for the #Chelsea job.

    Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

Chelsea have had 12 shots already in this game. They are giving this a real go but a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping by Bernd Leno is frustrating them.

Fulham are almost undone by a long ball from the defence. Tosin Adarabioyo struggles to deal with the bounce and Kai Havertz steals possession before feeding Joao Felix, whose shot is a comfortable save for Bernd Leno.

Stavros Makro: The problem with Chelsea isn't Potter. The problem lies with the owners who clearly don't have a clue about the high standards Chelsea fans were used to, and this will show in a matter of days at Stamford Bridge.

Lovely ball by Joao Felix to send Kai Havertz away down the right. The forward gets into the box, his cross is blocked but César Azpilicueta comes steaming in and his shot is deflected over for another corner.

Joshua Thompson: Potter needs time. The way he plays his football is not something that can be picked up straight away. It reminds me of Arteta at Arsenal. It takes time to adapt to new systems and to figure out who and what actually works but when he gets it right it could be deadly

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 34 mins

    Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

Really good save by Bernd Leno as he reacts quickly to an awkward shot from Lewis Hall, which is flicked up by a deflection off Tosin Adarabioyo.

From the corner, Mateo Kovacic goes for an acrobatic strike on the edge of the area but the ball flies well over.

Dave Payn: Graham Potter may well turn out to be a manager in the mould of Roy Hodgson, superb at getting unfashionable clubs to punch above their weight but perhaps less successful at more high-profile clubs. Not a criticism of either, though.

    Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

This is the Expected Goals pitch map from the game so far.

The goal is represented by the little yellow circle - it only had an xG of 0.058.

Chelsea's total is 0.74 (purple circles) to Fulham's 0.3 (black circles) so far.

Once again the clinical edge is lacking for Graham Potter's side.

Disappointing from Thiago Silva as he is found just on the edge of the box by an attacking throw in but he hits something that is neither a cross or a shot and Bernd Leno gathers comfortably.

Chelsea had been given a warning just before the first goal of the game.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was rooted to the spot as Bobby De Cordova-Reid fired that shot off the crossbar after Chelsea had given the ball away to Carlos Vinicius before he fed his team-mate.

And Graham Potter will be furious with his side's defending for Willian's goal against his former side - with the Brazilian not celebrating.

Lewis Hall gave the ball away at left-back and Trevoh Chalobah then should have done much better with his first clearance, before Willian's shot took a massive deflection off Chalobah to leave Kepa with no chance. Craven Cottage is bouncing.

"Stamford Bridge is falling down," is the taunting chant from the Fulham fans.

Former Leeds United player Lucy Ward on BT Sport: "Chelsea will be happier in the opening 25 minutes that they've got a player who looks like adding some creativity but again it is individual mistakes at the back and they find themselves behind again."

Joao Felix tries to fashion an immediate response as he gets the ball on the left, runs forward before hitting a low effort that is scooped up by Bernd Leno.

Chelsea are behind but there have been positives from their performance so far, not least Felix's debut.
