Fulham almost take the lead!

Chelsea suddenly find themselves wide open at the back after a mistake by Trevoh Chalobah and the ball is worked to the right side of the box to Bobby De Cordova-Reid. The forward shoots and Kepa Arrizabalaga is beaten but the ball bounces back off the bar.

A let off for Chelsea.

Ted Clarke: Give Potter time. Yes results have not been great, but he has taken on half a finished project, a squad crippled by injuries and big expectations from day 1. Did PG, JK, or MA deliver top of table finishes and trophies immediately? So why is GP expected to?

It has certainly been a lively opening spell for new signing Joao Felix.

The corner count is going up at quite some pace as now Fulham win one as Lewis Hall heads a lofted ball in behind. This one is played short to Willian, who finds Harrison Reed in space on the edge of the area but his first-time strike is blocked.

There's been a really good tempo to this opening 20 minutes.

Another corner for Chelsea. This one is headed away but the visitors pick the ball up and find Joao Felix again, this time in space on the left. He flicks the ball in with the outside of his boot but Fulham clear.

Millington: Something tells me that regardless of other contributions, Felix will run Grealish close for having the most fouls committed on them.

Chelsea immediately go down the other end and win a corner, which Thiago Silva heads just over.

The Blues have looked decent so far, creating chances with Joao Felix lively.

The chants from the Chelsea fans might need a bit of work, but the new signing, who only joined yesterday, is certainly making his mark and looking a real danger every time he collects the ball.

There's a VAR check for a possible penalty as Carlos Vinícius goes down inside the box after a clash with Denis Zakaria. It isn't a quick check but eventually the decision is no penalty.

"That is good play from Chelsea. He could perhaps gone with the other foot but he'd already ventured offside.

"He is probably going to enjoy himself at Chelsea because he is freer than he was at Atletico. He's got the licence."

Carlos Vinícius is caught by Cesar Azpilicueta and now Fulham have a free kick some 30 yards out. Joao Palhinha sends the ball into the box but Chelsea deal with the danger.

It's already a very impressive start from Joao Felix, as he helped create Chelsea's first chance of the match inside the opening three minutes.

Coming in from the right flank, he got himself into the Fulham area, laid it off to Kai Havertz and his shot was blocked with Lewis Hall's follow-up effort saved by the legs of Bernd Leno.

Direct and fast, Felix has already drawn a couple of fouls and is already looking a handful.

He's on the right, he's in the middle, he's on the left and just now he's pulled an effort just past the post from the left side of the penalty area. Encouraging for Chelsea fans, who are already serenading the Portuguese winger.

It has been a very decent opening 10 minutes for Joao Felix as he wins a free kick on the right side of the Fulham box, Antonee Robinson booked for the foul.

The delivery from the set piece is half cleared to Mateo Kovacic, whose shot is into a crowd and the loose ball falls to Felix but he fires wide.

Graham Potter will be very pleased with what he's seen from Felix so far.

Fulham continue their good spell in the last few minutes with a nice move down the left. The ball is sent in for Carlos Vinícius, whose shot on the turn is denied.
