The winners in this Joao Felix loan deal are Atletico Madrid, they get him off their books for 5 months, don’t have to pay his wages and get 9.7 million to boot, and then get the player back to sell on. Chelsea would be very happy if they could strike a similar deal for Aubameyang.

Cannot understand any calls for Potter to go already. Of course, we are in a rut, but a lot of Chelsea fans are letting the entitlement and ego of the Abramovich era get the better of them. This is a completely new project, with a new manager adapting to chaotic, and team in transition and plagued by several injuries. Let’s be patient and tolerant Chelsea fans. Potter is undoubtedly an exceptional manager. Yet, he absolutely needs time to mould his philosophy and culture into the club.

Former Leeds United player Lucy Ward on BT Sport: "That is exactly what Chelsea want from Joao Felix.

"It was a good run and a good pass but there was no conviction in the effort from Kai Havertz, it looked like he thought he wouldn't score.

"That was two big chances for Chelsea."

Oh but Joao Felix's third touch is almost to set up the opener!

He runs onto a ball played down the flank and pulls it back for Kai Havertz, whose shot is blocked. Lewis Hall is on the loose ball but his drive is straight at Bernd Leno.

That's what Chelsea fans want to see!

Joao Felix has just had his first touch in English football, a straightforward pass. His second touch seems him unable to keep the ball from going out of play.

A massive round of applause from all sides of the ground as everyone pays tribute to former Chelsea striker Gianluca Vialli, with his picture displayed on scoreboards at both ends of the ground.

Just as the teams came out of the tunnel it started chucking it down. It's a great atmosphere and away we go.

Everyone talking about Chelsea injuries, how many of those until the more recent were definite starters? Not many. It's been years of an inconsistent transfer policy that we're seeing now.

We've had a light show to entertain us and Craven Cottage is packed with all the available seats taken. The middle three sections in the newly-built Riverside Stand remain unoccupied and there won't be anyone in those seats until the start of next season.

A tasty west London derby to entertain us tonight - and Chelsea desperately need to get those three points.

GP must be allowed to develop the team HE wants, to be able to give results. The results can then be objectively evaluated and acted on. Knee jerk reactions are never a good solution to anything.
