Thanks the end of this live text now, thanks for joining us today.

A few managers are under pressure following defeats today, Frank Lampard in particular.

Manchester United recorded an impressive derby victory over champions City earlier.

And Brentford are now about Liverpool in the league.

See you tomorrow for three Premier League games, including the north London derby?

  2. 'Everything is possible for us'published at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank, speaking to BBC MOTD: "I am very happy, I've only just realised it's three consecutive wins. I'm very pleased, it's so difficult to win three in a row. We're unbeaten in seven as well, unbelievable stats. It also shows what we're capable of. If we keep the determination, everything is positive.

"We need to be confident because we've done very well, but we have to be humble as well and keep it up.

"Hopefully we can keep that humble side and stay hungry to get better and show determination to work unbelievably hard.

"It's good to have Ivan Toney back, he is very important to us as a goalscorer but also a character for us.

"I understand that penalties are debatable. I think the defining thing for me is that the left arm from [Marcos] Senesi showed it was definitely a penalty.

"I think it's so important to have that laser focus on the next game and then dream about getting to the highest position possible.

"We aim for as high as possible but try to win the next game."

    Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

Brentford have won four of their last five league games against Bournemouth, as many as they had won in their previous 17 meetings.

They are also unbeaten against them in five, their longest run since November 1991-October 1994.

More from Thomas Frank, speaking to Sky Sports: "To get the win was very pleasing for me. I have been onto the players that after a good run of games - beating Man City, a good game against Tottenham, West Ham beating them and Liverpool beating - we are facing Bournemouth at home, a very tricky game.

"These players have a top mentality. I just wanted to make sure we trained like beasts the whole week. We know in the Premier League nothing is ever easy.

"I don't think we played a top game but in a season how many perfect games do you play? Four or five? It was a well-deserved win."

  5. Brentford in Europe? 'Why not?'published at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Brentford

Brentford goalscorer Mathias Jensen, speaking to BBC MOTD: "Why not [challenge for European football]? We're halfway through the season.

"We just need to focus on each game because we know it can go both ways."

  6. 'Everyone needs dreams' - Frank on European placespublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank, speaking to Sky Sports, asked about potentially finishing in the European places: "It is important we have dreams. Everyone needs dreams and ambitions.

"[Manchester United boss] Erik ten Hag said something about Alex Ferguson who said the season starts in April. If we think too far ahead we will have a problem. It is important to celebrate our wins but after we have to work very hard and see where we will end."

  7. 'We need to stick together'published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth defender Jack Stephens: "Of course it's disappointing, I thought the first half was very even. The penalty decision goes against us but we came out in the second half and played well but the second goal finishes it off.

"The penalty seemed a little bit harsh from my point of view. I haven't watched it back yet.

"Hopefully [Lewis Cook's] injury is not too serious, he's been very good this season.

"No-one thought it would be easy in the Premier League, but the important thing is we stick together. Hopefully we turn things around."

  8. 'Toney's a nightmare for defenders'published at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Brentford

Brentford goalscorer Mathias Jensen: "I think it was a good game. We're on a good run, we have a lot of confidence, especially at home.

"We knew this was a tough test, it's always tight games against Bournemouth but I think we did very, very well.

"Ivan Toney is so composed. Even if opponents try to talk. He makes a big difference. We have to play in a different way when he's not in the team. It's fantastic to have Ivan up there to shield the ball. He's a nightmare for defenders."

[On his goal] "It was just about getting into the box and fortunately there was a fantastic cross. It was all about getting the first touch and shooting with composure."

[On making his 50th appearance] "I've been dreaming of playing in the Premier League since I've joined Brentford so it's fantastic to see it going so well.

"It's fantastic, we know the league is so tight. It's about focusing on each game one game at a time. That's how we do it and it seems like it's working at the moment."

You could tell from the first five minutes that Brentford were going to win this game. They were very professional against a poor Bournemouth side. The players and the fans are celebrating. It's a brilliant time to be down here at Brentford.

  12. 'I think it was a penalty'published at 19:46 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Brentford striker Ivan Toney, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is always good to be back. When the team is playing well and you are watching at home it is painful and enjoyable at the same time.

"I always practice them - in training, between training. Sometimes I get told off for practising them. It seems to be paying off so is good.

"I think it was a penalty. He didn't really need to pull me down because the ball wasn't going through on goal. He has made a mistake and I felt it was a penalty.

"I make the decision [where to place the penalty] at the last minute. I don't know where I am going. They say watch the keeper before the game but to me it doesn't matter because I don't know where I am going until I kicked the ball. When they don't move I have a place where I put it and I did that today.

"We didn't play at our top level and sometimes you have to find a way to win. We deserved the three points."

  14. 'I'm fully focused on next game'published at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil, speaking to BBC MOTD: "I didn't think there was much in the game. I thought the boys gave everything. We worked really hard and created good moments but we didn't quite get the rub of the green. The boys were unfortunate with how it went this evening.

"I don't think there was anything in the game, we created some chances. I thought the penalty decision was scandalous, I don't know how you get that wrong with VAR. Crazy for me. The first goal is unfortunate, a sucker punch.

"It's a foul as clear as day, Ivan Toney locks his arm in and pulls Marcos Senesi down. It's never a penalty.

"We need to work hard, there are little things that can go your way or not. We've suffered some injuries, we're weaker than we'd like to be. We've got to keep working.

"I'm fully focused on the group that we have and am ready to go again."

[On being under pressure] "I'm not interested. I'm working as always to win the next game."

  15. 'A scandalous decision'published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil, speaking to Sky Sports: "The penalty decision is a scandalous decision. It was never, ever a penalty. I don't know how we have VAR and that is still given.

"We created some chances, had some moments, but it didn't go our way.

"Huge [impact on the game]. It was the same ref last time we were here in the play-off semi-final. I thought it was really poor. I will have a chat with him afterwards. If he doesn't see it I don't know how VAR doesn't see it. Toney is pulling Marcos Senesi over.

"We were let down by a terrible decision.

"They gave everything. We had two 17-year-olds and a 19-year-old on the bench. We are short - injuries, illness. We are in a tricky spot but you see a group that are willing to keep going no matter what."

Greg: This is why you don’t appoint an interim manager after a handful of decent results. It rarely ever works out and there’s a reason they are brought in as interim in the first place. Bournemouth need to change now or resign themselves to finishing bottom of the league.

Real party atmosphere at the Community Stadium. The Bees are flying. And I haven't just said that because bees do fly.
