It's been a really pacey, exciting game. Very end to end stuff and the fans are giving it all sorts of shade - it's a fun atmosphere.

First chance!
Bruno Fernandes is slipped in on the right by Christian Eriksen. The angle is tight and he drags it wide of the far post.
Pep Guardiola flaps his arms in frustration on the sidelines.
Man Utd 0-0 Man City
Tyrell Malacia finds space on the left and he fakes a cross, deceiving Riyad Mahrez.
His first effort is blocked and when he receives it again, Malacia is offside.
Man Utd 0-0 Man City
Nice stuff from United as they play one-touch football to move the ball out of a tight space in the middle, over to the left.
It's then switched back across via Raphael Varane. "United, United, United" roar the home supporters.

Great atmosphere inside Old Trafford and it's down to business for England manager Gareth Southgate and assistant Steve Holland, who took their seats in the directors' box just before kick-off.
Southgate is now focussing on the Euro 2024 qualifiers after deciding to stay as England manager following the World Cup and there should be plenty to catch his attention here today.
Man Utd 0-0 Man City
Joao Cancelo clips it in from the left but Tyrell Malacia clears it at the back post.
Bruno Fernandes then plays a lovely ball over the top for Anthony Martial at the other end but he's miles off. Flag goes straight up.
Man Utd 0-0 Man City
Kyle Walker slips it behind Kevin de Bruyne as City had numbers breaking forward.
United don't keep hold of it for long on the break though. They haven't got going yet.
Man Utd 0-0 Man City
Joao Cancelo plays it through to Bernardo Silva. He teases a ball into the middle but Tyrell Malacia beats Riyad Mahrez to it on the far side.

Utd have had their mojo back in recent weeks, whereas City have looked tetchy and tired. Utd to win 2-0.

It's certainly been a spicy start with some flying tackles going in. It's going to be tasty.

Manuel Akanji plays it straight out for a throw-in with Riyad Mahrez stood waiting for it on the touchline.
Jeers ring around Old Trafford. City have had all the ball so far.

Why is everyone surprised about Shaw being picked over Maguire or Martinez? Neither is equipped to deal with Haaland as much as Shaw.
Anon
Shaw's done a great job filling in at CB the past few weeks, but Man City's attacking riches are a completely different proposition to those prev games. Hope I'm wrong but could be a harrowing first 45 mins with Martinez on at half time. Or even earlier...

Straight into it. Anthony Martial goes flying over Manuel Akanji's head as he tries to win a header. Free-kick to City and Martial is back on his feet.

Will Manchester be red or blue?
Off we go at Old Trafford for the 189th Manchester derby.

City have gone away from doing the basics brilliantly. The likes of Joao Cancelo are struggling to get that close control that we used to seeing him do so well, Riyad Mahrez wavering then coming back into form.
With so many changes, it's always difficult to build those partnership and consistent relationships with other players. You see players like Walker making really strange decisions and errors against Southampton and the ball going off the pitch.
The spaces and shapes that they're used to seeing are appearing slower. It looks like there is an extra touch or some hesitation in some decisions. City just don't look as fluid as we're used to.

A loud rendition of "United, United, United" erupts from the Stretford End.

Bruno Fernandes obviously doesn't have speed in the wide areas so could Ten Hag spring a surprise by playing Rashford off the right, Martial on the left and Fernandes almost as a false nine to try and occupy Rodri and control that midfield area?
I'm looking forward to seeing how they line up but Bruno is at his best when he's through the middle, picking up spaces. Is he going to stay out on that right wing, even if he meant to be playing there?

I think blocking the midfield is going to be crucial for United and there will be a lot of really interesting one-on-ones battles, especially in the midfield. They really need to solidify that area.
With the potential of Rodri pushing up in the middle, I think the battle with Casemiro is going to be really, really interesting.
After the performance at Southampton, though, I think City are going to be really up for it and firing on all cylinders.
