    FT: Newcastle 1-0 Fulham

    It's a massive win.

You look at the game in midweek and you have to follow up a big win with another big win - that's what top teams do.

Whether in the Champions League, the league or the cup competitions, they [big teams] continue to win. Sometimes it's not always pretty but they find a way.

  2. 'Squad depth is worry for Arsenal'published at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Spurs v Arsenal (16:30 GMT)

    Peter Schmeichel
Former Manchester United goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

My worry for Arsenal is the depth in the squad. How they got enough players if they get injured? They already got one injury to an important player - Gabriel Jesus, who they'd try to replace.

Can you replace a player who has done so well for the team? Mikel Arteta would be personally eager to bring the Premier League title home and get one over his mentor, Pep Guardiola. He's a very ambitious man.

  3. 'Chelsea probably deserved the win'published at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Palace will probably feel they should have taken the brakes off earlier on.

Thiago Silva got on the end of everything and he was probably the best player on the park. They managed to keep the clean sheet. He was helped by Badiashile.

Chelsea probably deserved it. Graham Potter finally made a change that worked the way it should have worked.

  4. Sutton's predictionpublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Spurs v Arsenal (16:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
    BBC football expert

    Spurs v ArsenalImage source, .

I am looking forward to this game and it will be interesting enough just to watch the technical areas when Antonio Conte and Mikel Arteta are both out there.

I don't think Conte will appreciate Arteta's antics if he behaves like he did in Arsenal's draw with Newcastle, so that will be worth keeping an eye on.

On the pitch, it might be far less of a contest. Arsenal are a much better team, and for most of the season Tottenham's performances have just not been good enough.

Spurs might step things up here, of course, because it means so much to both sets of fans that they won't be able to just lie down - but I've had enough of saying they will turn the corner soon, and I'm sick of Conte's excuses when they play poorly. They don't deserve me to predict a positive result for them.

I think a lot of Tottenham fans are sick and tired of Conte's brand of football too - they are bland and unexciting, while Arsenal are the complete opposite, even with Gabriel Jesus out injured.

I can see the Gunners making a big statement on Sunday, on Tottenham's own patch.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-3

    All over!

A much-needed win for Chelsea and Graham Potter as Kai Havertz's second-half goal is enough to take the three points.

It was a nervous end to the game but the hosts did enough.

  9. Postpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Newcastle 1-0 Fulham

Apologies, apparently the delay was because Newcastle told the officials Fulham had 12 players on the pitch.

    But that wasn't true. Weird.

  10. Postpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

A break in play as Jacob Murphy gets treatment. Fulham's bench aren't happy about this delay.

    Newcastle 1-0 Fulham

    Steve Stone
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Newcastle just kept going and going, and knocking on the door.

The substitutes have been positive, Saint-Maximin and Isak coming on the pitch to try and win the match

You just sensed there that Fulham had just sat back and didn't get anywhere near the cross.

For the first time in a long time in the second half, the ball into the box was quality and they got bodies in the box.

  16. Postpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Crystal Palace have a free kick in a good position. Michael Olise sends it deep to the far post, but too deep and the ball sails over the heads of his team-mates and behind.

  17. Postpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Chelsea 1-0 Crystal Palace

Good news for Crystal Palace fans, not so much for Chelsea supporters - there's six minutes of time added on.

  18. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 1-0 Fulhampublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Alexander Isak (89 mins)

    The winner surely!

Alexander Isak, in his first Premier League game since September following injury, can't miss and Newcastle take a late lead.

Sean Longstaff whips in a cross which Callum Wilson knocks across goal and record signing Isak heads into an empty net from close range.

Liam: Lewis Hall is 18, and from Chelsea's youth team. He's been more reliable, exciting and incisive than Cucurella, who cost over £60million. We need to stop our addiction to quick big buys and give young talent a chance.
