Imagine how well Conte would be doing at Chelsea with £648m to spend. Spurs attract great mangers but never seem to progress. It's like a perpetual incompatibility with each new appointment.

Much better. Spurs win the ball in midfield and Dejan Kulusevksi spins past a defender before finding Harry Kane, whose shot is saved by Aaron Ramsdale.

Get Poch back and fast!! As for Lloris, I don't think I could do much worse. I'll drive him to the airport and then I'll go in goal!

Alan (16:56) is 100% correct about Spurs having imposter syndrome. Way behind the current top four and not playing as well as Fulham, Brentford, Brighton or even Villa, who are all on the up. Could we have Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool all mid-table this season? Probably not but good to see some different teams in the mix.

A bit more edge to Spurs, here. Dejan Kulusevski cuts in and shoot over the bar after Harry Kane had flicked on Matt Doherty's ball.

Gotta give it to Arsenal. The rebuild under Arteta has been close to perfect because they don’t happen instantly! They take time! It’s been horrible as a Liverpool fan but a new team other than City having a go has to be respected. Well done, lads.

Kane is one behind Jimmy Greaves' Spurs scoring record.

Spurs have to be better in the second half, surely - give it a proper go in the derby in front of their fans.

Arsenal form a huddle before the second half, and then we are under way.

Maybe surprisingly, no Spurs changes at the break.

Since the start of October, only Napoli's Victor Osimhen (10) has scored more Serie A goals than Atalanta's Ademola Lookman (seven).

It's been one-way traffic, it has been brilliant from Arsenal. Sensational. They have been on the front foot.

It is a north London derby but Spurs haven't played it like a north London derby. They've sat back, haven't gone and put a tackle in. They didn't press until the last minute. It's comfortable from Arsenal, they've been brilliant. Hard team talk for Conte.

  12. 'Players demonstrated what it means to be Fulham Football Club'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    FT: Newcastle 1-0 Fulham

    Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva, speaking to Match of the Day: "Tough match for us at the end. We came here in difficult circumstances. Finishing a game at 10pm and then starting at 2pm on a Sunday is not fair. We knew Newcastle's physicality and quality.

"They have been doing well against all the teams they have played so far. Really proud of my players, they demonstrated what it means to be Fulham Football Club. They showed passion, desire and quality.

"We were compact, there was more control from them but I think we controlled the game in some moments as well. From the first moment, they showed the quality that they have.

"One bad decision from the referee and the VAR. The first one is a penalty, the second one too but that was given, and has to be a red card. Andreas won the ball, the player clearly pulled him and it has to be a red card. Really difficult for me to understand. You can miss the penalty but it has to be red card, penalty and in that moment the game would be very different.

"The Mitrovic penalty was one of the biggest chances that we had to lead the score. It was a big chance. It can happen as well. We have to keep going and that's it. The decision from the referee and the VAR is hard to understand.

"This group is too strong to be let down. The referee can make mistakes. I make mistakes and so do my players for us it is hard to understand how VAR does not see that but we have to go again."

A strange moment right at the end of the half where Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg shot wide from a corner and fell over William Saliba. It looked as if the referee had pointed to the spot for a Spurs penalty for a second but it turned out that was not the case.

Watching Arsenal right now is to be reminded of what great teams are. Already deserve the title this year - only team in England that look like champions. And I'm not even a fan. Credit your manager, Gooners - you weren't doing much of that last season.

Pin the red ribbons to that trophy. This season is well and truly over, no one coming near Arsenal this season. Not even United who are exempt from offsides.
