Mykhailo Mudryk is already having a big influence on this game.

Liverpool are wary of his pace and skill.

A cross to the back post floats just past the Ukrainian winger's outstretched boot.

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

We're seeing little shifts in momentum in the game.

It was Liverpool for the first 10 minutes of this half, Chelsea after that and now the Reds are having a moment.

Cody Gakpo turns in the box but fires a low shot straight at Kepa.

Well, it was on for James Milner to hit from the edge of the box. It's optimistic, though, from the defender to think he can score.

He doesn't. Instead he slices an effort well, well wide.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 67 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

Mykhailo Mudryk now shows he has some serious wheels on him, beating James Milner to a ball on the left before the Liverpool player hacks him to the ground.

It's a deserved yellow for Milner.

As a teaser, that is pretty promising from Mudryk! I mean, for £89m, you'd expect it.

  8. CLOSE!published at 65 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

    Sidenetting!

Mykhailo Mudryk is so close to showing exactly why Chelsea paid all that money for him, showing some very tidy feet to skip through two Liverpool challenges in the box. But the angle is tight and he fires wide of the post.

That Liverpool forward line of Darwin Nunez, Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo promises so much on paper. What it is going to deliver on the actual pitch.

Colin: I’m getting a little tired of Salah these days. He supposed to be a world class player who should be dictating the game for you. Give your head a shake and put some effort in.

Liverpool make a switch too, sending on Darwin Nunez for Naby Keita.

This will surely see Harvey Elliott drop deeper.

Video Assistant Refereepublished at 62 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

    Liverpool are screaming for handball.

I think this would be very harsh on Chelsea is it is given. Thiago Silva is falling to the ground and the ball is behind him when it taps the arm he has out there to cushion his fall.

The video assistant makes the right call. No penalty.

Oh, what a goal this would have been!

Hakim Ziyech is found wide left by a superb pass from Mason Mount. The forward cuts inside and runs and runs and runs. He beats one man, two, three but with just a finish needed, he fires over the bar.

Have Chelsea managed to weather the storm from Liverpool at the start of this half. They are seeing more of the ball now, crucially in the Reds half.

  15. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea's first opening of the second half is a good one.

Liverpool can only semi-clear a cross from the right and Conor Gallagher nips in to claim the ball. He can't get a shot away, though, as Ibrahima Konate stands tall to see off the immediate threat.

With Chelsea it's simple, they're going through a complete culture change, plus they've signed too many new players, and new manager. With Liverpool, they've got a great squad already, and have consistently signed expensive quality players, but they have a manager and fans who say they haven't.

Very few teams are able to go through periods of transition without going backwards for at least a season - especially in the Premier League. That's what we're seeing with these two. I know Liverpool will keep the faith with Klopp: you can see pattern in their transfer activity and adding two or three high quality players in the summer will do it.
