This is a different Everton.

They are organised and hard-working and could easily have a couple of goals. The best chances of the game have all been fashioned by the home side.

Arsenal are not moving the ball well or quickly enough to find a way through the amassed bodies in blue in the home half.

Another great chance for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who gets to the near post but can only glance Seamus Coleman's cross past the far post.

We'll have three added minutes at the end of this half. Arsenal continue to struggle to break down this packed home defence.

Andrew: The truth about Everton is despite all the problems with the owners, they have a decent team, Frank Lampard is just not a very good manager. Dyche will keep them up easy.

Rob: What we're seeing in Everton today is a well-drilled team with tactics and a strategy. Which was vanishingly rare under Frank Lampard, who's a good man, but no manager.

Dayman: The love fest for Lampard was always, in my opinion, an absolute joke. Now we see in just 40mins, what a bullish real manager can do. Dyche may not be enough alone to save Everton (I hope not) but what is truly damning is how bad Lampard was, is now there for all to see.

The free-kick is fired towards Granit Xhaka with boos from the home fans still ringing around the ground. The Arsenal midfielder can only flick the ball over the goal.

Idrissa Gueye concedes another free-kick for raising his hand, this time planting his palm around Gabriel Martinelli's chops.

Conor Coady to the rescue for Everton as Bukayo Saka meets a cross from the left with a volley that sends the ball running to the far corner of the goal. The Toffees defender gets back, though, and is able to poke the ball away.

Anon: I’m baffled by this massively improved performance. Sean Dyche is excellent but he can’t turn a team around this quick. It’s clear that some of these players put their feet up and did Frank Lampard out of a job.

Both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure know. Those were two magnificent chances to give Everton the lead here.

They so badly need that lift. They've given the league leaders a fine game so far.

What a transformation already under Sean Dyche.

The players are fighting and scrapping for every ball and the fans are getting right behind the team.

Dwight McNeil whips a cross into the middle from the left and Abdoulaye Doucoure has all the space he needs in the middle thanks to a slip from an Arsenal defender. He doesn't realise it, though, and glances his header tamely wide of goal.

Oh, so, so close to the opening goal for Everton!

Amadou Onana charges away down the left, away from Martin Odegaard. His low ball is a lovely one into the middle but is allowed to run right across the face of goal, Dominic Calvert-Lewin sliding in but unable to make contact.

Arsenal are running down blind alleys in possession. It is allowing Everton to nip in and tackle and counter. It takes a Thomas Partey foul to stop the home side getting away on the break after winning the ball.

Good chance! The best of the game so far.

It goes to Arsenal as Bukayo Saka holds off Vitaliy Mykolenko on the right before setting up Eddie Nketiah. The Gunners top scorer finds a yard in the box but then slices his effort horribly wide.

Kaden: I feel like Everton will win today. With all the hatred against the owners I think the players will be motivated to win back the fans. I see a last minute Calvert-Lewin header to send Goodison wild.

Sean Dyche will be really happy with this.

His team are digging in, battling for every ball and they're starting to show they can possibly hurt the league leaders.

Arsenal are having to do some work at the back here.

Everton fire a ball out wide left for Dwight McNeil but his cross is behind Alex Iwobi, who can't steer a header on target.

And now the home side test Aaron Ramsdale but the Arsenal keeper is equal to Dominic Calvert-Lewin's angled drive.
