Harry Kane touched the ball 14 times in that first half. Only Son Heung-min, with seven touches, had less of the ball.
Erling Haaland had 20 touches, despite doing nothing of note.

If Pep is giving players instructions to play a certain way then you have to believe that they are playing the right way. If the players started going against Guardiola then it would be a concern.

Everything was going well and City looked comfortable. You just can't legislate for one of your most reliable players in Rodri making a mistake like he did for the goal.
Spurs 1-0 Man City
Spurs have only lost twice since June 2020 after leading a Premier League game at half-time...
But one of those was against City two and a half weeks ago. They led 2-0 at the break but City won 4-2.

This game has so much in it. Pep will be in the changing room asking and wanting more from his players and wanting them to relax. They were 2-0 down last time and put four past them in the second half.
I'm sure Cristian Stellini will be making sure they don't make the same mistakes again.
I can't believe the turnaround in the game from Spurs not having a pass or a touch of the football to all of a sudden dictating play and looking such a threat on the attack. It really has swung between both sides here.

Garett: I think Alvarez was a great partner for Messi during the World Cup because of his relentless pressing, but I do not think he possesses enough quality on the ball to be in this City squad. Nowhere near the same impact as he had for Argentina.
George: Pep's out-Pep'ing himself again today isn't he. No need to always try and come up with crazy ideas.

Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper speaking to BBC MOTD: "Big win and I’m learning to enjoy winning even when you maybe don’t play so well, because we didn’t in the first half. The first half for us was just about the individual moments of Keylor’s saves and Brennan’s finish. We had to change half-time though, tactically and some personnel.
"We’re obviously really happy with the win, I’m not really happy with the performance and that’s my job to look into that. I don’t think it would be elite enough just to think about the win. So, work to do but we know that.
On Keylor Navas' debut: "Everyone knows what he’s done in the game in terms of decorated years and how experienced he is, but he still wanted to show who he is today.
"We’ve had a great few days with him, he’s showed fantastic humility, he’s really trying to buy in to how we play and the surroundings of the club so I’ve only got positive things to say at the moment.
"We’re delighted in the dressing room and he’s quite composed in the corner thinking 'I’ve done that before'."
On Brennan Johnson’s goal: "I think we’ve learned that sometimes you don’t get loads of chances in this league and if you can show good quality like Brennan did today then that is what is required. We’ve felt the other end of that at times this season but, we’re just really enjoying Brenna growing on this stage. He’s striving to get better and he’s working hard.
"We want him to keep growing and I’m enjoying seeing him and one or two of the younger lads really starting to thrive now."
On the table and relegation battle: "It’s too soon to be looking at that.
"When I’m done with you guys I need to go back and watch the first half quickly and review with the players. We’ve just got to look after ourselves.
"We’re enjoying the challenge and our work but with a real motivation and attitude to improve."

Leeds United
Leeds' Patrick Bamford to BBC Sport: "I think if we score the first goal it's a different game. Once they get the first goal they're very comfortable sitting in. It was always going to be difficult and we couldn't find the answer. In the second half we just tailed off.
"It just comes down to a few chances.
"I think you know what he's like, he's a good goalkeeper. But I still think we should have scored at least two in the first half. It could have been a very different game.
"I felt fine physically, their centre-backs just had me to deal with, we needed more people running on.
"Losing today it hurts but it doesn't change anything massively, we've got some huge games coming up against Manchester United."
[On leaving flowers on the pitch in memory of former Nottingham Forest chairmen Nigel Doughty]
"He's a real close family friend and the flowers are more for Michael and Helen, who are my best friends.
"I actually thought Forest would do something for him considering it was the anniversary [of his death] yesterday because if it wasn't for him Forest wouldn't be where they are today."

Nottingham Forest
Nottingham forest goalscorer Brennan Johnson to BBC Sport: "It feels like a big three points today and well-deserved.
"It was about digging in today, that's what the main objective was. We know we're not going to get much of the ball but getting the three points was massive."
[On his goal] "I just had to keep my eyes on it and luckily it went in.
"I am little [surprised with my form] I knew it was going to be a hard season and at times I found it really difficult but to get the goals for the team is massive and for myself it's good for my confidence so hopefully it keeps continuing."

Leeds United
Leeds manager Jesse Marsch to BBC Sport: "I feel like we were the better team. We were on top from the beginning and we created lots of chances. The first time down the pitch they get a goal.
"We are struggling to turn performances into results and we've been in this place for a while. It's hard for me to accept and it's frustrating. And I've got to find ways to change that feeling and find ways to get the results we think we deserve.
"We lost discipline a little bit and guys started running all over the place. We didn't stick to the tactical plan as we wanted to.
"In general we are struggling to get the results we feel like we deserve.
"The work and commitment on the inside has been good but from a result perspective it puts stress on the environment. I have to take responsibility on that and I do.
"I believe in these guys, I believe in their character and work rate and quality. I have to find ways to make them better.
"Obviously we know what the table situation is. The frustrating thing is to just let opponent after opponent after opponent slip away. We've got to change that dialogue. We've got to become more winners instead of finding ways to lose. That's basically now my responsibility."

It is often said that Pep would struggle at a club with less money. I actually think the inability to mess too drastically with your starting 11 might eliminate some of his biggest deficiencies.

I am not sure what Pep is going to do, because it doesn't look like they fully understand what they are supposed to be doing on the pitch.

I'd imagine Antonio Conte, sans gallbladder, is enjoying watching this from Italy.
