  1. Battle at the bottompublished at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2023

Everton's victory over Arsenal also helped light a bit of a fire at the bottom of the Premier League. With the Toffees winning and Wolves taking Liverpool to the cleaners, there has been some clear movement at the foot, with some teams now knowing they need top start picking up points right now.

Two of those teams meet today at the City Ground, with Nottingham Forest hosting Leeds.

Both were busy in January, with the former continuing their vast recruitment drive and the latter making moves, including breaking their transfer record.

New faces are guaranteed, a win there for the taking.

  3. Eight points to two?published at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2023

Yes, we're only just past halfway, but the way Arsenal were going you did start to wonder if this was nailed on to be their year.

It still might be, but Saturday's shock loss at Everton has stuck a, well, maybe not a cat but certainly a kitten amongst the pigeons.

Had the Gunners won yesterday they would have been sat on an eight-point lead at the top. As it is, they're now potentially staring down the barrel at the gap at the top being reduced to just two points (albeit with a game more to play).

The door has been shouldered open for Manchester City. They just need to seize their chance to apply pressure of their own.
