Romero went right through Haaland there. He has made his afternoon very difficult now.

He is up against Haaland and it is going to be a long afternoon on a yellow card.

Yikes. Cristian Romero lunges in on Erling Haaland and gets a deserved yellow card. Stupid tackle really - it was 70 yards from goal.

Anon: Even as an Arsenal fan, respect where it's due. Well done Harry Kane.

Dan: Of course he breaks the club record against the one who aggressively pursued him. Harry Kane, he's one of our own!

I don't know what the referee has seen there. Kyle Walker is in such a promising position and if he wanted to book Bentancur then he could have gone back to it after.

Jonathan: Rodri giving Spurs a head start again. Shockingly poor...

Craig: I feel like every Spurs v Man City game, City just love to gift Spurs easy goals.

John: Another goal for playing out from the back!

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 23 mins

There is a yellow card now as Spurs' Rodrigo Bentancur fouls Rico Lewis.

Both sets of fans boo. City had a good attack going so wanted to play on.

Jack Grealish shoves over Harry Kane in the centre circle. A bit of an argument starts but no cards.

They could have been Republic of Ireland team-mates in another world (the dream world in my head).

If anything is going to happen for Manchester City today you feel it will be through Bernardo Silva. Erling Haaland needs to get more involved as well, he has cut a frustrated figure so far.

    Spurs 1-0 Man City

Harry Kane is the third player to score 200 Premier League goals after Alan Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208).

Kane took fewer games to reach the landmark. This is his 304th game. Shearer took 306 and Rooney took 462.

    Spurs 1-0 Man City

    Glenn Murray
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

What a moment for Harry Kane and these Tottenham fans. To be able to do it at his home stadium in front of all of these people here.

A special moment that he will never ever forget, to be the all time leading scorer at Tottenham Hotspur. You could see he was waving to his family's box.

He's done it now and it's time to really streak ahead and make that record his own.

He's not really been involved in the game at all but as soon as he is, it's a one touch finish. Hojbjerg lays it to him in the six yard box and he plays it past Ederson.

As we so often see for Harry Kane, the net ripples and he wheels away.

A bit early for pot-shots, Bernardo Silva glides past a tackle and shoots from 25 yards. Simple save for Hugo Lloris.

Now, what do City have in their tanks? Lose this and they remain five points off Arsenal, who have a game in hand.

Tottenham haven't had much possession. City have controlled the game but once again sloppy passing, the ball to Rico Lewis was short and Hojbjerg does well to hold off the challenge from Akanji and Harry Kane is there to slot home.

GOAL - Spurs 1-0 Man Citypublished at 15 mins

    Harry Kane

    THE RECORD!!

Harry Kane becomes Spurs' all-time top goalscorer - with their first proper attack of the game.

It's also his 200th Premier League goal.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg intercepts a loose pass just outside the box, draws a couple of defenders and squares it to Kane, who slots into the bottom corner.

A bit of a scuffed shot maybe but still an expert finish.

    Spurs 0-0 Man City

Kyle Walker whips in a tasty cross from Riyad Mahrez's lay-off but Emerson Royal does well to stop Jack Grealish getting on the end of it.

Emerson is hurt but can continue.
