Liverpool are already a million times better than they were in the first half, with pressure from the front two - Yana Daniels and Meg Lawley. They are not allowing Man United the luxury and time to play out as and when they want.

Kearns then escapes down the left and zips in a cross that Mary Earps, who did well to punch a cross clear in a crowded penalty area a moment ago, claims.

The goalkeeper tells her teammates to keep calm. They've been under more pressure, with Liverpool looking to go on the front foot and reaping the rewards so far in this second half.

Molly Pike has a chance for Leicester when a Brighton clearance falls to her on the edge of the penalty area but she can only lash the shot wide of goal.

Neither side has had a shot on target after an uneventful 14 minutes.

Liverpool need more energy and more urgency within their play. They certainly need a midfielder who can link the play. The forward players need to stay higher.

United cannot capitalise on the opportunity, resulting in a goal-kick.

Leicester have started their WSL campaign with nine defeats from nine games for the second season in a row – only two teams have ever begun a WSL season with 10+ straight losses; Doncaster in 2016 (15) and Yeovil Town in 2017-18 (12).

Liverpool have failed to score a first-half goal in six of their 10 WSL games this season, with only Leicester (9) and Reading (8) having a worse record.

It was frustrating to watch. Liverpool had a lot of bodies behind the ball and looked like they were compact.

They just didn't do enough and were slow when they won the ball back. They didn't press Man United at anytime. United were able to play the game at their own pace.

United have been allowed to get into their stride. They have been afforded time to get comfortable possession of the ball. Liverpool need to rough them up.

Ever the encourager, United head coach Marc Skinner waits by the side of the pitch to offer Mary Earps his approval as the teams return to the dressing rooms.

United may not have an easier first half than that for the rest of the season. Alessia Russo and Hayley Ladd's smart finishes followed Lucia Garcia's deflected early volley in a confident display of slick final-third passing, alert ball-winning and accurate crossing.

That third goal means they've leapfrogged Arsenal into second, as it stands.

The ball is in the Everton net, but Reading haven't got an equaliser as it is ruled out by a foul from Natasha Dowie on goalkeeper Emily Ramsey.

Aggie Beever-Jones runs at the away defence and it's a two-on one counter, with Jess Park free in the middle. But Beever-Jones goes for glory and it's the wrong option as Deanna Cooper does well to win the ball.

It was a poor clearance from Taylor Hinds, straight into the path of Ona Batlle. All she had to do was redirect the ball towards goal.

Everton substitute Sara Holmgaard sends in a low cross for Jess Park who just can't get a touch to convert the opportunity.
