  1. 'Liverpool aren't allowing United time'published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Man Utd 3-0 Liverpool

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

Liverpool are already a million times better than they were in the first half, with pressure from the front two - Yana Daniels and Meg Lawley. They are not allowing Man United the luxury and time to play out as and when they want.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Man United 3-0 Liverpool

Better from Liverpool. Ceri Holland wins a free-kick in a useful position just outside the penalty area to the left of centre, and Missy Bo Kearns whips her attempt from the dead ball over the wall and wide of the near post.

Kearns then escapes down the left and zips in a cross that Mary Earps, who did well to punch a cross clear in a crowded penalty area a moment ago, claims.

The goalkeeper tells her teammates to keep calm. They've been under more pressure, with Liverpool looking to go on the front foot and reaping the rewards so far in this second half.

Molly Pike has a chance for Leicester when a Brighton clearance falls to her on the edge of the penalty area but she can only lash the shot wide of goal.

Neither side has had a shot on target after an uneventful 14 minutes.

Former England midfielder on BBC One

Liverpool need more energy and more urgency within their play. They certainly need a midfielder who can link the play. The forward players need to stay higher.

Matt Beard kept them longer in the dressing room because he is not happy.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Man United 3-0 Liverpool

We're back underway at Leigh Sports Village, where Liverpool have made a change at the break.

Missy Bo Kearns replaces Shanice van de Sanden, but the second half begins with more of the same for the visitors as Lucia Garcia surges down the right, enters the penalty area and wins a corner off Taylor Hinds from an attempted low cross.

United cannot capitalise on the opportunity, resulting in a goal-kick.

    Leicester 0-0 Brighton

Leicester have started their WSL campaign with nine defeats from nine games for the second season in a row – only two teams have ever begun a WSL season with 10+ straight losses; Doncaster in 2016 (15) and Yeovil Town in 2017-18 (12).

Liverpool have failed to score a first-half goal in six of their 10 WSL games this season, with only Leicester (9) and Reading (8) having a worse record.

Reckon they'll find the net during the second half? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  9. Postpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Leicester 0-0 Brighton

Katie Robinson plays an early pass through the Leicester defence and Kayleigh Green looks to be through on goal for Brighton, only to be halted by an assistant's flag.

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC One

It was frustrating to watch. Liverpool had a lot of bodies behind the ball and looked like they were compact.

They just didn't do enough and were slow when they won the ball back. They didn't press Man United at anytime. United were able to play the game at their own pace.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

We're under way at the King Power Stadium. Will today be the day Leicester get their first point(s) of the season?

United have been allowed to get into their stride. They have been afforded time to get comfortable possession of the ball. Liverpool need to rough them up.

Ever the encourager, United head coach Marc Skinner waits by the side of the pitch to offer Mary Earps his approval as the teams return to the dressing rooms.

United may not have an easier first half than that for the rest of the season. Alessia Russo and Hayley Ladd's smart finishes followed Lucia Garcia's deflected early volley in a confident display of slick final-third passing, alert ball-winning and accurate crossing.

That third goal means they've leapfrogged Arsenal into second, as it stands.

  16. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Everton 3-2 Reading

The ball is in the Everton net, but Reading haven't got an equaliser as it is ruled out by a foul from Natasha Dowie on goalkeeper Emily Ramsey.

  17. Postpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Everton 3-2 Reading

Aggie Beever-Jones runs at the away defence and it's a two-on one counter, with Jess Park free in the middle. But Beever-Jones goes for glory and it's the wrong option as Deanna Cooper does well to win the ball.

  18. 'United spread the goals'published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Man Utd 3-0 Liverpool

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

Beautiful, precise header from Hayley Ladd. Two goals scored this season, and United are spreadng the goals around.

It was a poor clearance from Taylor Hinds, straight into the path of Ona Batlle. All she had to do was redirect the ball towards goal.

  19. Postpublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Everton 3-2 Reading

Everton substitute Sara Holmgaard sends in a low cross for Jess Park who just can't get a touch to convert the opportunity.

A double change for the hosts, Clare Wheeler and Izzy Christiansen on, off Aurora Galli and Hanna Bennison.

GOAL - Man Utd 3-0 Liverpoolpublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Hayley Ladd (41 mins)

Hayley Ladd rises to score and put United in cruise control!

Taylor Hinds makes an unconvincing attempt at a clearance in dangerous territory on Liverpool's left.

United react in unforgiving fashion again, Ona Batlle lifting a delightful cross towards the far post, where Hayley Ladd arrives between two defenders and guides a precise header into the far corner of the net.

The contenders are beefing up their goal difference now - and deservedly so.
