    Sheff Utd 0-0 Hull

A good passage of play sees Sheffield United work the ball to Daniel Jebbison who does well to run into space on the edge of the Hull City box.

He attempts a shot pretty much directly from the 18-yard line but the visitors do well to block it before it can test keeper Matt Ingram.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Hull

We're under way at Bramall Lane. It's a chilly night in Yorkshire. Hopefully this game gives us something to warm us up.

    Sheffield United get us going.

This week marked one year since Acun Ilicali took over at Hull City.

The Turkish businessman quickly replaced Grant McCann with former Rangers striker Shota Arveladze in the dug-out but after a bright start to this campaign went sour the Georgian was sacked in September.

Former Tigers defender Liam Rosenior was appointed in November and he has led them to three wins and five draws from his nine games in charge.

Their improved form has been based around a solid backline, with just four goals conceded in their past six games.

The Blades cruised to a 2-0 win in East Yorkshire back in September, but it seems unlikely they'll have it quite so easy tonight.

Sheffield United make two changes from the team who beat Stoke 3-1 on Saturday. Teenage striker Daniel Jebbison comes in for his first start in the league since 1 August.

Hull City make two alterations form the XI that started the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield on Saturday. Skipper Lewie Coyle and Ireland international striker Aaron Connolly both come in.

Whatever happens this weekend Burnley and Sheffield United will be ending it where they begin it, sitting pretty at the top.

If in-form West Brom can do what no other side has managed this season and win away at Turf Moor they'll shoot up from sixth to third.

Meanwhile, sixteenth-placed Hull are unbeaten in six in the league and a win for them at Bramall Lane this evening would see them move a healthy 11 points clear of the bottom three.

We've got a bumper EFL Friday night live text for you this evening, with the Championship's runaway top two both in action at home.

Up until today leaders Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United have had things almost completely their own way as they look to secure returns to the Premier League.

    Up until today that is...

Friday saw the Blades placed under a transfer embargo by the EFL after failing to keep up with payments to another club.

That means that, with less than two weeks until the transfer window closes, they cannot register a player "without the written prior consent of the league" until the overdue payment is made.

Will the off-field issues derail their promotion push or, already 11 points clear of third place, do Paul Heckingbottom's men have enough to get the job done?
