Bayern Munich made mince meat of Group C, winning all six of their games to storm through on maximum points. They scored 18 times in their games and concede just twice.

You'd expect them to wipe the floor with Viktoria Plzen, but Inter Milan and Barcelona are made of sterner stuff. All three of them were dealt with, though. Barca in particular had a chastening time of it, losing 3-0 at home to the German champions en route to the Europa League.

  7. Bring it onpublished at 18:46 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2023

After a three-and-a-half month hiatus, during which we've crammed in a World Cup amongst all the league action, the Champions League returns, showcasing Europe's 16 best teams in a straight two-legged knock-out run to that big-eared shiny cup.

Tonight, we begin with two absolutely belting ties. One is between two of Europe's proper big-hitters, who have both dominated their respective nation in recent years. The other sees the first meeting of two teams since they went toe-to-toe (and forehead-to-forehead in one infamous incident) in one of this competition's most fiercely-contested last-16 ties 12 years ago.

In Paris, French champions PSG take on German top dogs Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, in Milan, it's AC against Spurs.

We'll bring you every goal, big chance, save, card and throat-grab over the next few hours.
