At the other end, Neymar plunges to the floor holding his face after a Bayern defensive challenge. Referee Michael Oliver waves the protests away.

The half chances that Spurs are getting from free-kicks just show they have not been able to build anything on the ground between the front three of Son, Kulusevski and Kane.

They have been better in the last 10 minutes so that is perhaps something that will lift Antonio Conte.

Spurs' main threat at the moment is free-kicks. Son whips in another and Eric Dier again gets his head to the ball but he can't generate any power and tamely nods wide.

It's a real battle in the middle of the pitch. Lots of bodies, flying tackles, very little room for a second touch.

I think it was his own player he hit, and then when he came down, his face hit Kane's fist. There was nothing Harry could have done about that.

Kjaer gets the treatment he needs and is back on his feet and able to carry on.

Steve: As a Spurs supporter I'm tempted to watch PSG v Bayern just to enjoy a game of football. But, no, I'll grit my teeth and see it through.

Another Spurs free-kick into the box gives Milan something to think about. Harry Kane gets up and sends Simon Kjaer spinning to the turf. The ball is cleared but the defender will need some treatment.

It's been very hard for Sarr and Skipp, they have been closed down, they haven't been given any space. Because of that it's been difficult for Son and Kane to work together.

Tottenham have at least steadied the ship somewhat. They've not allowed Milan to build a head of steam after the goal.

It's a great ball in there. Maybe not as much pace as he would have wanted to put on it, but it was on the target of Dier's head, he just didn't re-direct it enough.

First threat from Spurs.

Boos heard from the PSG fans as Bayern Munich dominate possession early on at Parc des Princes, however no clear cut chances for either side yet.

Tottenham need to try and get hold of the ball but they are not getting the chance to do it, they are being closed down every time.

Spurs were a soft-touch at Leicester at the weekend, allowing the Foxes to bully them a bit. This has started in a similar vein.

You only need to make a tackle and the place erupts. Milan are not having a good time in Serie A but historically it's about the European Cup and the Champions League.

They feel this is where they deserve to be.

Spurs need to get their heads back on now.

That is a big early blow, but they simply can't afford for this to become 2-0 quickly.

They've got so many bodies in the box, I think Spurs were hoping to get a free kick. In this cathedral of football, you aren't going to get much.

I think it was a clean header, Romero wasn't strong enough.

Good save first time from Forster, the second one was a brilliant save but he could do nothing the third time.

Last thing Spurs would have wanted. The flares are out already, the Milan fans are loving it.
