  1. Final whistlepublished at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

A big, big day in the title race with leaders Larne going down to a 2-1 defeat by rivals Cliftonville.

It takes the Reds level on points with the Inver side while champions Linfield are two points back after being held to a draw by Coleraine.

Crusaders are also very much in the mix after a comfortable 3-0 win at Carrick, which leaves them just three points adrift.

It was another disappointing day for Glentoran as they lost at Ballymena United while the basement battle between Portadown and Dungannon ended in a stalemate.

That's all from us for now - thanks for your company!

  3. 'Fantastic response from Cliftonville'published at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    FT: Cliftonville 2-1 Larne

    Darren Murphy
    Sportsound summariser at Solitude

What a response from Cliftonville. We can see Joe Gormley celebrating in front of the home fans. You can see what it means to them. They obviously came into this game under huge pressure after their failure at Crusaders on Boxing Day.

So to come out and show that response today is fantastic for them.

What really excites me is the title race. We have a brilliant title race on our hands. I believe it's down to four teams. It may be too far for Coleraine and Glentoran but what a finish we have on our hands.

  4. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Ballymena United 2-0 Glentoran

A chorus of boos echoes from the away stand as Glentoran supporters contemplate a sixth league defeat in their last nine games.

A terrific effort from Ballymena, though, as they start 2023 on a high note.

  5. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Portadown 0-0 Dungannon Swifts

There's the full-time whistle and it has finished 0-0 at Shamrock Park.

A game of not too many clear cut opportunities. Both sides will have to settle for a point, an outcome which Dungannon will be happier with than Portadown.

  6. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Cliftonville 2-1 Larne

Evan Boyce blows for full-time much to the delight of the home crowd as Cliftonville go level with Larne at the top of the table!

Sean Moore and Rory Hale scored as the hosts come from behind after Lee Bonis opened the scoring for the visitors.

Massive result for Cliftonville - especially after their Boxing Day misery at Seaview.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Linfield 0-0 Coleraine

It finishes goalless between Linfield and Coleraine here at Windsor Park.

The hosts probably feel they had the better chances and could have won the game, but the Bannsiders were always dangerous and had a few chances of their own.

Ultimately these two strong sides cancelled each other out and were unable to break the deadlock.

  8. OFF THE LINEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Cliftonville 2-1 Larne

How has that not crossed the line!

Sean Moore dispossesses Fuad Sule on the half way line who was the last man, the winger tries to round Ferguson who rushes out of his goal but the ball deflects to Chris Curran who attempts to shoot first time from 40 yards but Sule recovers to clear the ball off the line.

Seconds later, Cian Bolger's header is gathered by Nathan Gartside!

What a game this has been.

Steven McCullough's attempted back header for Ballymena falls short of its target but Jay Donnelly snatches at the loose ball and fires wide.

That sums up a frustrating afternoon for Glentoran.

    Carrick Rangers 0-3 Crusaders

Crusaders are comfortable victors here at the Loughview Leisure Arena thanks to goals from Paul Heatley and Jordan Forsythe (2).

Stephen Baxter's men were well worth their victory and completely dominated as they continue to be part of the group challenging for top spot.

As for the away side, they are unable to register what would have been their first victory since the November 19.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Linfield 0-0 Coleraine

Eetu Vertainen lets fly from inside the box and would have given the Blues the lead if it wasn't for an alert stop from Martin Gallagher at his near post.

The Coleraine stopper reacted superbly to Vertainen's effort to keep the scores level.
