    Five Irish Premiership games today

Here we go, then. The Irish Premiership in 2023 starts here - and what a round of fixtures we have to kick off the new year.

Larne are chasing their first Irish Premiership title and start 2023 with a three-point lead over Linfield and Cliftonville at the top.

Tiernan Lynch's pacesetters travel to Solitude this afternoon to take on the third-placed Reds, who are hurting after a 3-0 Boxing Day derby defeat at Crusaders.

Linfield, meanwhile, beat Glentoran to make it three wins on the bounce and welcome Coleraine to Windsor Park today, while the Glens will look to arrest their slump at Ballymena United.

Fresh off that dominant win over Cliftonville, Crusaders take on Carrick Rangers at Taylors Avenue and there's a bottom-of-the-table clash between Portadown and Dungannon Swifts at Shamrock Park.

Newry City's match with Glenavonhas been postponed, however, after the Showgrounds failed a pitch inspection. It's the second time that fixture has fgallen victim to the weather in the last week after also being called off on Friday.

But five out of six ain't bad. Stay with us as we bring you updates and in-play clips on another big Irish Premiership day.
