The best chance of the match.

Salah comes in from the right-hand side, Steele comes out and narrows the angle but it's never going in as soon as it leaves his foot.

Mo Salah would have put that away with his eyes closed last season.

He's scored just three since 6 November. That should have been four.

Mo Salah cannot believe it. A delicious pass by Harvey Elliott and the Liverpool forward is clean through but rolls it wide. That is a huge chance.

Midfielder Lewis Baker and veteran defender Phil Jagielka are among the Stoke players dropped to the bench at Bet365 Stadium.

Connor Taylor comes in at centre-back and will play alongside former Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot. There is also a starting place for Bersant Celina.

Jamie Reid, who came off the bench to score in Stevenage’s victory over Aston Villa, starts this time. But Dean Campbell, who netted the winner in that tie, is again on the bench.

It wasn't the best of finishes from three yards out.

Trent Alexander-Arnold got back on the line to clear it, that's happened at both ends now.

H-U-G-E chance for Brighton.

It has gone into a bit of a lull after a breathtakingly fast start to the match.

You can sense now they've sized each other up and it becomes a bit more tactical now.

After a helter-skelter start with action in both boxes, the tie has calmed down in the last few moments. Liverpool are playing it across their own box as Brighton press.

Screams from the home fans as Thiago manhandles Pascal Gross. Easy decision for referee David Coote. Free-kick to Brighton.

Harvey Elliott scored a wonder goal in the last round. He lines up a shot on the edge of the Brighton box but scuffs it. It's going wide but Jason Steele gets down to gather it nevertheless.

What a start to this match, it's electric.

You can see the confidence in this Brighton side but they were pegged back there by Liverpool.

Salah had two bites at the cherry and it was Dunk who cleared it off the line.

It's been a frantic start. Mo Salah is causing all sorts of problems already and wins his side's first corner. Cody Gakpo is also lively.

Liverpool just couldn't get started at Brighton two weeks ago but they go close to opening the scoring after a sweeping move involving Mo Salah. The hosts just about scramble it clear. The Reds look like they have revenge on their minds.
