Another Wilfried Gnonto run and he slips the ball to Patrick Bamford whose powerful drive is saved by Jac Alnwick, but the flag went up.

    It was very tight.

    Leeds 3-0 Cardiff

Wilfried Gnonto shoots from the edge of the area, but he goes near post and his effort hits the side-netting.

Whether he gets his hat-trick probably just depends on how many more minutes he gets.

Brentford on Sunday is probably already in Jesse Marsch's thoughts, this game is won.

    Uh oh.

    Maximilian Wöber is not ok.

He goes down again and this looks like a hamstring strain.

    He won't continue.

Wilfried Gnonto is a complete and utter joy to watch. He is everywhere. He is too quick.

A little worry for Leeds as January signing Maximilian Wöber is having some treatment. Think he's ok.

There are not many times in football that players can relax and enjoy their second half of football. Especially not teams like Leeds in the bottom half of the Premier League.

They would love to get another goal which would really underline the victory for them.

    Leeds 3-0 Cardiff

A lot of Leeds fans won't watch as much of Cardiff as I do.

Trust me when I tell you, a team who has scored 21 league goals in 27 league games, is not mounting a three goal comeback.

    Not a chance.

Changes for both sides at the break.

Mark Harris and Rubin Colwill off for Cedric Kipre and Ryan Wintle.

    Damage limitation for Cardiff then.

Leeds replace Tyler Adams with Brenden Aaronsen, while Patrick Bamford will also get some welcome minutes as he replaces Rodrigo who has done his bit.

Cardiff need a manager don't they?

That first half reflected what they are. A bit of a mess at the moment.

Let's have a look at some more goals while we wait for the second half.

Leeds play brilliantly every time I see them. They are very exciting. They were helped by Cardiff's poor backline.

The quality of Leeds when they have time in midfield to get in behind them, far too easy. We have seen it after 26 seconds and all throughout the first half.

Leeds have played well, they look as if they can cruise it to the end of the game. Cardiff in every department of the game look a league below.

Massive geek I am, I just watched the start of the game with a stopwatch.

26 seconds for the goal AND WHAT A GOAL!

    Sorry for shouting.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2023

    Leeds 3-0 Cardiff

    There we are, half-time.

Super stuff from Leeds. They have been at it literally from the first minute when they scored an absolute stunner through Wilfried Gnonto.

They are worthy of their 3-0 lead, despite that late VAR drama.

    Let's grab a brew.

It took the Cardiff fans a moment to realise they even scored as the ball snuck into the corner of Illan Meslier's net. And now they haven't scored.

The quiet that followed Curtis Nelson's header has been replaced with cheers of happiness and some cat calls of derision towards the away end.
