  1. 'Arsenal are doing a good job so far'published at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

Arsenal are doing a good job so far. Not really letting City settle in.

Normally you come to the Etihad and City have the ball at the back but Arsenal aren't letting them have that tonight.

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Ilkay Gundogan runs a long way unchallenged and then plays it out to Jack Grealish. The former Irishman's inswinging cross is caught by Matt Turner.

  3. 'No surprise that came from Haaland'published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

No surprise that came from Haaland.

A little slip from Matt Turner but Tomiyasu was there to help. City's best chance so far.

  4. 'Holding isn't strong enough'published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a good battle between Holding and Haaland. Holding is trying to wrestle with Haaland and he is not strong enough to do it

The overhead kick - the technique - if that had gone in I would have lost it.

  5. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Did Erling Haaland just try to score a 25-yard bicycle kick? Yes.

Haaland races away 40 yards out and Matt Turner races out of his box to stop him being in on goal.

The ball breaks back to Haaland though and his overhead kick goes over the keeper but is cleared by a defender.

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a very good save. Arsenal have started ever so well and have been on the front foot. But it is a good save by Stefan Ortega to parry it away from danger.

  7. 'Bright start from Arsenal'published at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

    Good save from Ortega.

Trossard is causing havoc down this left side. Thunderous shot from Tomiyasu.

    Bright start from Arsenal.

  8. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Wonderful play by Leandro Trossard on his first Arsenal start. He has John Stones on toast with some good skill and cuts it back for Takehiro Tomiyasu, whose drive inside the box is well saved by Stefan Ortega.

  9. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Erling Haaland lays the ball off for Rodri, who fires well over from about 25 yards out.

  10. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Less than three minutes in and Gunners back-up keeper Matt Turner has played a couple of risky passes and come outside his box twice.

  11. 'On paper, City will dominate'published at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

Massive game. One we're all looking forward to. City have a stronger side. Quite surprised that Arsenal made six changes with having no midweek game next week.

On paper, City will dominate which we all expected them to but we will see what the game brings.

  12. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Bit of an escape for Rob Holding and Arsenal. The Gunners defender and Erling Haaland are wrestling. Haaland gets beyond him and goes down just outside the box but the referee gives the free-kick to Arsenal. If he'd given it to City that would have been at least a yellow.

  14. 'Guardiola has gone strong because he wants to make a statement'published at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

Manchester City v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Nigel Reo-Coker
Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Pep Guardiola has gone strong because he wants to make a statement. The comments he made after the Tottenham game has really stuck with me because he is not the sort of manager who lets his emotions out.

The fact that he mentioned the Arsenal players makes today mean so much more.

  15. 'Caicedo would be an absolute bargain'published at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

Manchester City v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Nigel Reo-Coker
Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

On Arsenal's attempts to sign £60m Brighton midfielders Moises Caicedo

That is an absolute bargain. The difference in Caicedo is that he is so young but I think he is technically better than Thomas Partey and getting the ball from the back. He is a lot more disciplined in his position.

The potential of what he can be is absolutely phenomenal.

  17. 'Nketiah has delivered, he is a true scorer'published at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

Manchester City v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Eddie Nketiah has been excellent. He has seven goals this season. That has been outstanding. He probably thought he was going to be a bit-part player because they signed Gabriel Jesus.

As a striker you need a run of games and you have to credit Nketiah, a lot of people questioned him but he has delivered. He is a true goalscorer.

  18. Postpublished at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

Man City v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

Arsenal have won their past four FA Cup games against Manchester City.

They have reached the final each time, winning the past three (1971, 2017, 2020).

City's only win against Arsenal in the FA Cup was in 1904, when the Gunners were called Woolwich Arsenal. It ended 2-0 at the Manor Ground.

  20. 'You have got to credit Arteta'published at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

Manchester City v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You have got to credit Mikel Arteta because the job he has done with Arsenal this season has been incredible. He has been backed by the board and Edu but the job he has done has still been brilliant.
