Manchester United struggled to breakdown a firm Everton defence last week despite creating several huge chances. They have not created anywhere near as many today. Marc Skinner and his staff didn't look overly pleased as they went down the tunnel. The Tottenham staff hung back in a huddle before following their players down.

Brighton manager Jens Scheuer says that his side's second half performance against Aston Villa last weekend showed the style they want to play.

They have the chance to build on that against the same opponents today as they look to put more distance between themselves and bottom side Leicester.

“I think for us it’s important to catch every point we can,” Scheuer said. “There are five points between us and Leicester, so it’s a better situation now and an away point in our situation is always a big thing.

“Aston Villa for me is a top team in the league. In January, they didn’t lose any games. So to catch a point there was amazing.

"For us, I was really impressed with the second half from my team. This is the way we want to play, the style."

Liverpool are looking to win three home Women’s Super League games in a row for the first time since 2018 this afternoon.

Will they be able to get past the league’s bottom-placed side and carry on their recent home form?

It's been a hard workout for the Spurs players this half and Rehanne Skinner just shook her head in frustration at a misplaced pass from Ashleigh Neville. The Spurs boss had been waving her arms to push the team forward and gesturing to keep the ball. They would be pleased to get to half-time with the score 0-0 though - remember, they've lost six WSL games in a row.

So far this has been a good watch for fans of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City in the WSL title race...

For me, the problem has been Tottenham's decision making. A few times now they have picked the wrong option when there has been a player in acres of space.

Spurs definitely having more of the game. They do well to spring Mana Iwabuchi in on goal but she was offside.

Alessia Russo pounces on a loose ball and tries to chip Spurs keeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela from a mile out, great thinking but the goalkeeper was back in her net by the time the shot got away.

Tottenham are growing into the game more. They are starting to move the ball around better in the final third, with Ashleigh Neville pushing up more to support Beth England and Drew Spence. There's more noise from the stands too because the game feels a bit on edge.

Half a sight of goal for Beth England again, the angle is tight and all she can really do is leather it. She does, it deflects off a defender and squirts across the goalmouth.

Both sides have had a couple of chances but it has been quite cagey.

Get on that! What a ball in by Nikita Parris, whipped in and inviting a flying touch from Alessia Russo or Leah Galton but neither can get there. It just had too much on it.

Much better from Tottenham in the last few minutes though. Some old favourites from the men's game are in the stands, Gary Mabbutt, Ossie Ardiles, Jermain Defoe and Michael Dawson watch on...

I would expect Bethany England to score from that position, she's usually much more clinical in front of goal. She'll be really annoyed with herself.

Excellent play from Ashleigh Neville, though. She's been out on the left but she moved over to the right, England made the run but couldn't keep the ball down.

Maya Le Tissier has been caught out in possession a few times. Ashleigh Neville pounced on that one and Beth England should be scoring! Huge chance! Marc Skinner was out on the edge of his dugout immediately giving instructions to captain Katie Zelem.

Ah it's a great chance for Tottenham! They've been under the cosh and this is the sort of opportunity they have to take.

That was a really, really close call. She was offside by an inch.

Manchester United do have the ball in the net but the flag is up! A great ball in by Ona Batlle is headed home by Leah Galton, but the winger had just strayed too far.
