Weghorst will be happy with his night, getting his first goal for Manchester United. You never want to wait long when you join a club to get it.

It was a great finish and that will give him confidence going forward.

Another change for United and 20-year-old Anthony Elanga gets a few minutes with Wout Weghorst, on a day when he has got his first goal for the club, the man coming off.

United substitute Facundo Pellistri gets a yellow card for a foul just to the side of the penalty area for a foul on Neco Williams.

The free-kick comes to nothing though.

It has been easy for United.

If Forest go and close down and try to force a mistake it will lift the atmosphere.

You have to give the fans something to shout about and at the moment they aren't doing that.

A reminder that away goals don't count (if it's level after both legs) so any two-goal lead for Forest after 90 minutes at Old Trafford would take us to extra time next Wednesday. Easier said than done.

Steve Cooper's side desperately need a goal here in the last 10 minutes or so to give themselves hope.

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is among those at the City Ground and Villa don't have any matches against either Forest or United coming up anytime soon so may be plotting a bid for someone on the pitch with a week left in the transfer window.

In the first half Forest had a 15 or 20 minute spell where they caused problems.

Now is the time. If United go back to Old Trafford with a 2-0 lead then it's tie over, I do believe Forest need a goal in this game.

United's Christian Eriksen swings in a cross from the corner of the penalty area, but it is just behind Wout Weghorst and the big Dutch striker can't get his head on it.

Jesse Lingard, who scored the winner for Manchester United in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the 2016 FA Cup final during his time with the Red Devils, is on for Forest.

Him and Emmanuel Dennis are on, replacing Sam Surridge and Gustavo Scarpa.

They've had moments, Forest, and that was another good one.

When it falls to Gibbs-White you're thinking 'hit the target', but he's really unlucky.

Forest desperately need to score to give themselves any sort of chance in Manchester next week and Morgan Gibbs-White goes close for the hosts, but he can't hit the target.

It's very much Manchester United at the moment.

Hennessey has been called into action a couple of times.

United are trying to finish the two ties in this game so the next goal is going to be crucial.

Forest need to weather the storm and try to get something on the counter-attack.

With England manager Gareth Southgate in the stands, he has seen a wonder goal from Marcus Rashford and the striker is now given a rest as he comes off, with Alejandro Garnacho on.

Soon after Danilo is replaced by Jack Colback in the Forest midfield.

Another chance for Manchester United. Christian Eriksen produces a lovely curled effort from the edge of the box, but it bounces back off the crossbar with Wayne Hennessey nowhere near it.

The ball falls to Marcus Rashford and his follow-up effort is straight at the Forest keeper.

I think Forest have missed Yates, he's tenacious and always puts a tackle in.
