Brennan Johnson, with a great run of his own, skipping past a sliding challenge from Lisandro Martinez, gets the ball on to the right foot and it would've been some goal but the Forest dangerman can't keep the strike down and over it goes.

It took Nottingham Forest 20 minutes to get into the game, but this is a great spell for them. Once again David de Gea is called into action, making another decent stop, this time denying Brennan Johnson.

It's a save you'd expect De Gea to make, and he does.

Gustavo Scarpa has a go and catches it nicely on the volley from 20 yards out, but David de Gea, flinging himself to his left, does excellently to get two hands to it to push it wide.

I believe Johnson has the beating of Manchester United down the left, he's got the pace and he's been in good goalscoring form.

Him and Morgan Gibbs-White are the two they want to get on the ball.

Forest come again though and win their first corner, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka heads clear Gustavo Scarpa's forceful delivery.

Nottingham Forest are struggling to get the ball and struggling to stay in the game.

We've got the second leg in a week's time, but United are looking to double their advantage and make next week a routine evening.

There was a superb little move by Marcus Rashford when he sprinted into the box then, running over the ball to get it onto his left foot, which allowed him to beat Wayne Hennessy with a low shot to the corner.

Rashford is one of the most in-form players in the country just now.

Antony, on his left foot, hits a strike from the edge of the penalty area and it is dipping and bending, but just past the post. United nearly two up inside eight minutes.

Manchester United winger Antony has a point to prove tonight.

The Brazilian started his United career really well, with a goal on his debut against Arsenal and further strikes in his next two Premier League games, against Manchester City and Everton.

But he has been below par in his last few games, including at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Manager Erik ten Hag defended him yesterday but it already looks like he is keen to get on the ball.
