Michail Antonio has just scored a header and tries to get another one, but instead heads across goal and not at it, with none of his team-mates anywhere near him.

Antonio has put himself about a bit tonight.

He's been isolated at times, which isn't great against League One opposition, and you expect players to get in and around him.

  3. 'It's game over'published at 54 mins

Derby County 0-2 West Ham United

David Moyes punches the air, he's delighted.

Essentially it's game over. It's a long way back from here for Derby.

It just sat up beautifully for Michail Antonio and he couldn't miss.

Paul Warne will be bitterly disappointed. West Ham haven't been at their best but they are 2-0 up.

  4. Moyes needs Antoniopublished at 53 mins

Michail Antonio used his BBC Sounds podcast to say last week that he might leave West Ham this transfer window.

David Moyes was quick to quash that suggestion.

The reason is pretty obvious. With Gianluca Scamacca and new signing Danny Ings injured, Antonio is the Hammers boss' only fit striker.

  5. goal

GOAL - Derby County 0-2 West Ham Unitedpublished at 50 mins

    Michail Antonio

West Ham double their lead. Derby are caught short in numbers at the back and Jarrod Bowen is free on the right side of the penalty area.

The cross takes a nick off a sliding Craig Forsyth but that just sets it up perfectly for an unmarked Michail Antonio to head past Joe Wildsmith and into the net.

Derby with a mountain to climb now.

Think this game shows what a poor league League 1 is. We are 16 unbeaten and then have been totally outclassed by an average West Ham team tonight,

    Ron

Derby are a League One side playing an established Premier League club in a tight game where neither side have created much…why are the pundits giving them stick?!

Derby's Jason Knight gets the ball on his right foot on the edge of the penalty area and goes for the bottom corner but visiting goalkeeper Alphonse Areola can watch the ball dribble well wide.

Derby's challenge will be to start creating but if they are still in the game with 15 or 20 minutes to go then they'll have to throw everything at West Ham.

You expect more from West Ham. It hasn't really clicked for them.

I suspect David Moyes will have had harsh words with his players at half time.

And we're back in action for the second half. No changes from either boss at the break.

Can Derby County turn this one around? They are one of four League One sides left in the FA Cup with Sheffield Wednesday facing Fleetwood in a replay, while Ipswich Town also have a chance to progress, but need to win an away replay at Championship Burnley next week.

Really disappointed with how David Moyes has set us up tonight. I know this game could be a potential banana skin but this is so negative and boring. Our midfield looks poor and slow. God I hope we don't lose Rice.. on the other hand, we're actually winning away and have scored a first half goal!

    Josh - West Ham Fan

West Ham keep passing the ball sideways and backwards far to often. Very few passes are going forwards.

  13. You again?published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2023

HT: Derby County 0-1 West Ham United

If West Ham see this through it will set up a fifth round away tie at Manchester United which, funny enough, would be the third successive season where those two sides have met in a cup at Old Trafford.

Scott McTominay scored an extra-time winner in a 1-0 victory for Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup two seasons ago, before West Ham got a bit of revenge the next campaign with a 1-0 win in the north west in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

If it is Man Utd v West Ham, don't expect many goals as all of their last five games at Old Trafford have only seen the one goal in each of them.

West Ham haven't been at their best.

The first half has been about one moment when Bowen had an easy opportunity from four yards.

Other than that, they haven't been fluent in the final third, and neither have Derby but they have been industrious.

Paul Warne will feel there is more to come from his side and, at 1-0, they are still in this tie.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2023

Derby County 0-1 West Ham United

Jarrod Bowen's 10th-minute goal gives Premier League West Ham the advantage at the break, but the League One outfit have battled well, and are having some success down the flanks.

However, Alphonse Areola in the away goal has not been tested yet and Paul Warne will be hoping his side can change that after the break.

David Moyes doesn't look happy and I get it. They haven't been slick enough or quick enough with possession.

  17. Postpublished at 45 mins

Derby County 0-1 West Ham United

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Tom Barkhuizen are causing problems for Derby down the right and left flanks respectively.

Mendez-Laing with a step over and burst of pace sees him sprint past Emerson but Angelo Ogbonna is well placed in the six-yard box to launch a no-nonsense clearance.

Expected more from derby. Not a shot on target yet though.

There was a moment a few minutes ago when Tomas Soucek get possession about 15 yards inside the Derby half. not far from the right touchline.

He looked up and saw Emerson Palmeiri on the other side of the pitch outside the side of the Derby box.

The pass must have been 60 yards. Under no pressure, it was delivered perfectly. Emerson, with a bit of space to work with, killed it dead.

Nothing came of the attack but it could have done. The speed and accuracy was amazing but it happens so often in the English top flight, it is almost routine.

  20. 'They haven't looked for him'published at 40 mins

We used to see Bowen make runs in behind a lot last season. There have been times when West Ham have had it in midfield tonight and they haven't looked for him.
