West Ham have a corner from the left but Derby manage to clear their lines at the second attempt after a header nearly bounced into Michail Antonio's path.

But the Hammers are trying to push for a second goal. Some superb skill from Antonio, spinning past his marker, helps create a chance. He gets free on the left side of the penalty area but Max Bird hacks the pullback behind for a corner and that comes to nothing.

They might not have had a shot on target yet, but Derby are still well in this match and giving Paul Warne plenty to be encouraged about.

Tom Barkhuizen crosses from the left and James Collins winds himself up for the spectacular full-stretch standing volley. It would've been goal of the tournament if it had flown in. It flies wide.

David Moyes has a pen and some paper stuffed into his jacket pocket, which he keeps getting out to make notes. He has been making quite a few.

The Derby fans are making plenty of noise still behind Joe Wildsmith's goal.

They have a drummer leading them on, which must be a bit tough on those nearby.

West Ham have won their last four ties against sides from outside the top two divisions of English football since losing 4-2 away at AFC Wimbledon in January 2019.

This is the first time the two teams have met since New Year’s Eve 2011, when the Hammers lost 2-1 at Pride Park in a Championship fixture.

McGoldrick is a big miss, although he's getting on at 35, I think he's a better link man than Collins.

He will come deeper whereas Collins will stay up against the centre halves.

Collins is a big man and will thrive off crosses but they'll miss McGoldrick's cleverness up top.

Derby have been bright since going behind. Korey Smith, who once scored a last-minute winner for Bristol City in a 2-1 League Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United in December 2017, looks to surge into the penalty area.

He goes for a give and go, but West Ham partially clear. It falls to Conor Hourihane and he shoots well over from 25 yards out.

Moments later Smith then becomes the first booking of the night with a painful challenge on Emerson.

Derby have been slightly careless in the middle of the park and that's partly down to the pressure from West Ham.

You can see the idea from Paul Warne's team, quick switches of play and trying to isolate the West Ham wing-backs.

Jason Knight storms forward from the halfway line for Derby and plays it wide left to Tom Barkhuizen.

Knight gets the ball back on the edge of the penalty area, but West Ham have loads of bodies back in time and force a loose pass from the home man.

Derby's Nathaniel Mendez-Laing shows some class on the right flank with a run and step over that gives him a bit of space to send the delivery in past Thilo Kehrer.

It's a good cross too, but James Collins just can't get his head on it, but then the flag goes up and the striker was offside anyway.

Good start from West Ham. David Moyes will be absolutely delighted.

Bowen is not going to miss that.

It was touch and go whether he was offside but he let Soucek head it on.

He's in a decent run of form in terms of goals now.

Ben Johnson crosses from deep and veteran defender Curtis Davies slices his clearance but luckily for him it drops straight into the hands of goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith.

Moments later Jarrod Bowen leads a charge at the Derby goal and goes for go with Wildsmith again doing well to catch the strike, while Bowen may well be getting questions later from Michail Antonio over why he didn't play his team-mate in.

Michail Antonio just sliced his shot wide, which made the Derby fans remember who he used to play for.

Antonio spent the 2014-15 campaign at Nottingham Forest before he moved to West Ham.

It's fair to say the Derby fans were not complimentary about the Hammers striker.

Barkhuizen is really quick and is playing on the left. It was just one long ball into the channel, he outpaced the West Ham backline and couldn't make the most of it.

It's an early warning for West Ham and David Moyes is off his bench. He doesn't look happy.
