Leeds United's American manager Jesse Marsch is reportedly keen on adding a third USA player to his squad.

  2. Bolton's Evatt expects Kachunga ban after mix-uppublished at 10:21 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2023

  3. Charles erroneously sent off for Boltonpublished at 10:17 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2023

    Bolton 1-0 Forest Green

Bit of a strange one in League One on Tuesday as Dion Charles scored the winner but was later mistakenly sent off as promotion-chasing Bolton beat bottom-of-the-table Forest Green.

Top scorer Charles fired Ian Evatt's side into a sixth-minute lead with his 13th goal of the season but the hosts then had to play with 10 men after a 28th-minute flashpoint.

Charles was erroneously red-carded by referee Tom Nield for violent conduct, with replays clearly showing that team-mate Elias Kachunga had lashed out at Rovers' defender Brandon Cooper.

Despite Bolton protests, and after a lengthy delay, Charles eventually left the pitch, although the red card may be overturned on appeal.

Thanks for that, Dean (re: 9:57). Fair to say few saw this turnaround coming from Joelinton (although the few that claim they did are lying!)

So let's open it up... which Premier League player has had the biggest transformation? We're thinking good OR bad, to include someone who's featured in this month's transfer gossip...

After scoring for England in the 2018 World Cup quarter-finals, Dele Alli is now on loan at Besiktas and even the Turkish club are trying to get rid and send him back to Everton.

  5. '£10m for Pope is an absolute snip'published at 10:04 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2023

    Southampton 0-1 Newcastle

    Lee Clark
Former Newcastle United midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

On Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope's 10 consecutive clean sheets: "It's mad, isn't it - just off the page. It's 10 consecutive games and obviously 16 in total. And he's having to make saves as well. He's making some great saves at the right time.

"It's not just down to Nick Pope and he'll tell you that, but he has been a brilliant signing and I think it was about £10m the club paid for him. In today's market that's absolutely nothing. It's an absolute snip.

"Honestly, he's been superb from the minute he walked through the door. You can tell he's got a presence.

"His shot stopping, taking of crosses, even his distribution, which people had questioned before he came in, has been excellent as well."

"We just lacked a little bit of quality in terms of wide areas. Once we get that confidence and get one or two in, we will be a different threat. I am really proud of them."
