It is a penalty, he doesn't need to make it [the challenge] and he is late.
When you know you've made contact you don't argue and he's not. It's a very naive tackle.
How important could that be?
That's a terrific spot kick by Demarai Gray. Cool as you like.
Everton lead.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton
The penalty stands! Demarai Gray is standing over the ball.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton
Jonjo Shelvey on Dwight McNeil.
Referee John Brooks points immediately to the spot.
But was there a handball in the build-up? VAR is looking at it.

Pickford always gets involved! He's a great goalkeeper and I rate him so highly but why does he always get involved and go up to referees?
It's frustrating to see, I understand outfield players doing it but why do it as a goalkeeper?
I can't talk because I was worse than him though!
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton
Challenges are flying in. Play is stopped for a few moments to allow Brennan Johnson to recover after being winded before Jordan Pickford is fouled while trying to gather the ball.

Hasn't taken Sean Dyche long to make his way out into the technical area to bark out some instructions to his side.

It's a cheap free-kick, Johnson has got to do better than that.
Really stupid tackle.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton
Forest struggle to get it clear and Michael Keane has a shot blocked before Dwight McNeil lifts it over the bar from the edge of the box.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton
This free-kick is actually in a decent position out wide.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton
Early touch for the returning Serge Aurier as Forest spray it around with confidence in the opening exchanges before Brennan Johnson concedes a free-kick after a foul on Dwight McNeil.

Winning games breeds confidence. These Everton players will know that everyone is talking about their lack of goals but if they can come away with the three points today and score a few goals, then that will give them confidence moving forward.
But first and foremost they need the win, there's no easy games in this league but this is a huge game.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton
This is big. This is under way.

There's a minute's silence for the victims of last week's train crash in Greece. Forest want to show solidarity to their Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis.

The biggest problem for Everton and why I'm worrying for them, is because they aren't scoring goals. You can't get out of trouble if you're not scoring goals.
I don't like to be critical of players but they brought Neal Maupay in and he looks low in confidence. I've always said I want Demarai Gray to play because he's their top goal scorer this season but since Sean Dyche has come in, he's not really played.
But even then, he's not a number nine, he's a natural winger.
I don't know for the life of me how Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been missing so long but it does happen. They miss him and they need him. He could be the difference in them staying up.

The City Ground is right up there in terms of atmospheres and a huge roar goes up as the teams emerge. A healthy following from Everton for this. Their fans are making themselves heard.

Huge game for Forest. A win today would give them a nice cushion and probably needing only 3 more wins. Best of luck to them.

This is a big one - a win here would give Nottingham Forest some breathing space over the bottom three, but Everton would drag Steve Cooper's side right back into trouble if they take the points.
On form, it's Forest who are clear favourites - they haven't lost at home in the league since September and are quite courageous at the City Ground, while Everton have managed only one away win all season and are often toothless too.
But, when I think about both sides and what's at stake, I don't think there will be much in it. This will be a real battle - it could get pretty jittery, and there won't be many goals.
Sutton's prediction: 1-1.

All the doom-mongers basing Everton's relegation prospects on the last match, not the next 10. Having looked at our remaining fixtures, however, I am confident the loser of this game will be going down, just hoping it is not us......
