Mark: This league does not allow time for learning from mistakes; it punishes them to the fullest. Forest's games against Everton, Leeds, Wolves and Villa are massive six-pointers.

We are 14th with a game in hand and six clubs are, on the face of it, worse off than us. A loss in our last match at West Ham was unexpected, but so was a draw with Manchester City. Our points will stack up and our home form will ride us through.
With Everton’s turning point appearing somewhat short lived, we are in a more favourable position to triumph this weekend.

Abdoulaye Doucoure has just summed up Everton's travails in front of goal this season during the warm-up.
A nice one-touch passing move - albeit without any defenders - puts the midfielder through on goal.
He is eight yards out with only second choice Asmir Begovic to beat, but side-foots his effort the wrong side of the post.

Sean Dyche has won two and lost three of his first five Everton games, and those winning goals against Arsenal and Leeds United have come from central defender James Tarkowski and veteran full-back Seamus Coleman.
And the manner in which Everton collapsed once they went behind against Arsenal in midweek, showing a complete lack of confidence and self-belief, is a serious worry for Dyche and their long-term Premier League prospects.
This visit to Nottingham Forest now assumes even greater importance as Everton face yet another season of crisis.

When you see how detailed Steve Cooper's preparations for the weekend are, then there's no reason why he couldn't manage one of the top teams.
But for now, the job he is doing at Forest is outstanding! I think he's a superb manager.

Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League home games. It's their longest run without defeat at the City Ground in the top-flight since a run of 20 between February 1995 and January 1996.

"I just hope we're not in the Championship when we're playing in that, or even worse League One."
Will Everton still be a Premier League club when they kick-off at their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium home?
The club said it will hold about 53,000 fans and is due to be completed in 2024.

Half an hour to kick-off and it's bitterly cold.
The County Championship cricket season starts in 32 days but it's a day for thermals and warming up in gloves at the City Ground.
You can bet Sean Dyche is in his element. No jacket. Wearing white shirt and tie. Smiling.

Forest at home are hard to beat. If you look at both squads they aren't that different but Forest have match-winners.
Full credit to Steve Cooper because people were almost laughing when they signed so many players who needed time to adapt to his style of play, but they have.
FT: Arsenal 3-2 Bournemouth
By the way, is anyone else still emotionally exhausted after yesterday?
Arsenal went behind after 00:09 and went ahead at 96:59.
Incredible drama. More of the same today, please.

Steve Cooper has done a great job to gel this group of new Nottingham Forest players into a coherent squad and to be where they are.
But they need to be careful because teams can easily get dragged back into relegation trouble when they start to relax and think the hard work is done.
Forest might have had their good run and they need to be careful about getting dragged back into it. There was a little bit of an alarm bell ringing with me with Forest [against West Ham] and you do have to wonder when the chips are down, can they go again?
Can that dressing room with all these new players have the team spirit, have they got the unity, have they got the cohesion to dig in again?

Sean Dyche has just told Sky Sports that Vitalii Mykolenko is missing today because of illness. It has paved the wave for Ben Godfrey to make his first Premier League start since 14 January.

Sean Dyche started his reign as Everton manager with a win over Arsenal at Goodison Park that hinted at a possible revival - fast forward to Wednesday's 4-0 hammering at Arsenal and the brutal reality is clear.
Everton held their own for 40 minutes but even when they got into threatening positions they lacked any sort of bite.
They have not scored more than once for 15 games, the last time coming in a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace on 22 October.
It makes the decision to go through the January transfer window without adding a striker, indeed without adding anyone, look even more like negligence on the part of the club's hierarchy, including director of football Kevin Thelwell.

Having picked up a 1-1 draw against Manchester City in their last home game in the Premier League by playing on the counter-attack, do Nottingham Forest need to be more aggressive against relegation-threatened Everton?
Former Manchester City and Tottenham midfielder Michael Brown gives The Football News Show his verdict on how both sides should approach the game and why the Everton coaching staff have added motivation.

Big nolte: The bounce of the new manager has well and truly gone and the Everton players reverting to type as predicted. Doesn't matter who you have managing this lot, Championship beckons.

Both of these sides lost 4-0 last time out but Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper makes just one change from that defeat by West Ham.
It comes at right-back with Serge Aurier coming in for Neco Williams.
Forest XI: Navas, Aurier, Worrall, Felipe, Lodi, Freuler, Shelvey, Colback, Johnson, Gibbs-White, Wood.
Everton boss Sean Dyche makes two changes after his side got hammered at Arsenal on Wednesday night.
Ben Godfrey comes in for Vitaliy Mykolenko at left-back, while Demarai Gray leads the line for the goal-shy Toffees in place of Neal Maupay.
Midfielder James Garner returns from a long-term back injury and is on the bench against the club he spent a successful loan spell at last season.
Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Tarkowski, Godfrey, Iwobi, Onana, Gueye, Doucoure, McNeil, Gray.
