I think the new Cardiff manager will be fairly pleased with what he's seen from his team in that first half.

I thought they started the game really well, they looked bright, they looked sharp, enthusiastic, they had some really good moments on the counter-attack. They've been the team that's worked the goalkeeper the most.

Sheyi Ojo's had a couple of shots, he's worked the goalkeeper, he's seen a lot of the ball in the first half, more than he's probably seen all season.

I think they've defended really well.

In truth this game has not been a classic as yet, but both managers will be reasonably happy at the break.

Rob Edwards' Luton put pressure on Cardiff for a while and will feel their moment will come if they can do the same thing after the break.

And new boss Sabri Lamouchi has seen plenty of endeavour from his Cardiff side, who have looked capable of threatening on the counter-attack.

It looks like a question of who can find a moment of quality in the final third.

The whistle goes to end a first half in which Cardiff came closest to opening the scoring when Callum Robinson hit the bar from range.

Good pressure from Luton, that's what they do. They service the box, they recycle possession.

Cardiff have to be strong tonight. They have to expect that balls are going to come into their box and they have to deal with it.

Ever since we mentioned how this had been a fairly even contest, it's been all Luton.

An aimless ball forward from Cardiff is easy for the Luton rearguard to deal with.

There is evidence as to why the Bluebirds are the lowest scorers in the division.

Luton come forward once more down the right, with Cody Drameh feeding Cauley Woodrow, whose cross is met by Elijah Adebayo.

His header is saved comfortably enough, but the Cardiff left is an issue for Sabri Lamouchi.

Luton are looking menacing at set-pieces - and they have another corner.

Nothing much has changed in Sabri Lamouchi's first 15 minutes as Cardiff manager, though I think it's harsh to criticise - he's only had a few days to prepare with his players.

However, Cardiff have been the better side in the last few minutes.

Now Alfie Doughty's fine recovery challenge puts Luton on the front foot, but a swift break ends as Carlton Morris is snuffed out in the penalty box.
