As you’d expect, Rangers have most of the ball, most of the territory and most of the threat.

However, Thistle are staying strong, defending well with good organisation and have limited direct efforts on Jamie Sneddon’s goal. This was the first step. The next is get to half-time.

Rangers seem to be lacking that little bit of quality in the final third at this stage.

    Rangers 0-0 Partick Thistle

You just have to look at Rangers' set-up from a Thistle throw-in. They've almost put the pitch into a quarter. They're suffocating Partick Thistle players and leaving three quarters of the pitch wide open because they get bodies around the box and they can hopefully win it back.

Ianis Hagi makes a dart forward from midfielder but Connor McAvoy does well to intercept the cross from James Tavernier.

No obvious width in the Rangers trio behind striker Antonio Colak, so the full-backs are likely to be prominent.

  15. 'Partick Thistle fans enjoying the party'published at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2023

Partick Thistle fans have travelled in their droves more for a party than in expectation of anything realistic in terms of winning here.

They’re making some noise, creating a good atmosphere. They will dream of getting something early and have started reasonably well, moving up the pitch rather than sitting in.

A shock feels so unlikely but that’s football, you just never know for sure.

Oops! A nervous moment for Thistle keeper Jamie Sneddon as he blooters a clearance against Rangers striker Antonio Colak. The ball loops high and wide of the target to spare his blushes.

Tillman just wrestled Holt to the ground there. He's got a case there. They've had a quick look and felt that there was nothing to give.
