    Millwall 0-0 Burnley

The hosts have had to deal with a fair bit of pressure in the opening stages so midfielder Zian Flemming attempts the spectacular with an effort from about 35 yards.

It goes over the top but that's kept Ari Muric on his toes.

Flemming has 10 goals this season so he knows where the goal is - worth a try!

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Swansea 1-2 Stoke

We mentioned Joel Piroe's excellent record in this fixture before kick-off, and he surely thinks he's added another goal here.

Morgan Whittaker races into the penalty area through the centre and locates Piroe in front of goal on the right.

Enter Matija Sarkic: the goalkeeper, who's on loan to Stoke from Wolves, somehow keeps Piroe's effort out with a sprawling dive and outstretched arm, turning the danger behind. Save of the season contender.

Under way in the Papa John’s Trophy semi-final at Home Park.

Plymouth big favourites here on league form as they sit second in League One, with their opponents three points outside the drop zone.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Rotherham 1-0 Sunderland

Alex Pritchard takes matters into his own hands for Sunderland, cutting back inside the Rotherham penalty area on the right and curling in a thunderous effort that is brilliantly tipped around the far post by Viktor Johansson.

    Josh Laurent (19 mins)

Two in five minutes for Josh Laurent sees Stoke turn the scoreline around!

Tyrese Campbell teases Swansea's defenders inside the penalty area on the left, then sends a low cross towards Laurent, who has ample time in front of goal to curl in.

    League Two latest

Like in League One, no goals in tonight's League Two games.

Stockport can move into the top three with a win at bottom-of-the-table Rochdale.

Hartlepool are just two points outside the bottom two and are hosting Newport who have a nine-point buffer on the drop zone.

Harrogate, four points above the bottom two are at Grimsby and Walsall v Crewe is very much a mid-table affair.

  7. goal

GOAL - Rotherham 1-0 Sunderlandpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Ollie Rathbone (19 mins)

Midfielder Ollie Rathbone is such a creative and industrious presence for Rotherham, and he's put them ahead tonight!

Rathbone advances on goal from around 25 yards out, keeps going in the face of some generous defending and, from just outside the box, sends a low diagonal strike into the far corner of the net to send the New York Stadium and Millers boss Matt Taylor into raptures!

    Norwich 0-0 Birmingham

It feels like a Norwich goal is only a matter of time as they continue to stream forward.

Kenny McLean and Marcelino Nunez are the latest Canaries to go close as Norwich seek back-to-back home wins for the first time since September.

There's been a booking apiece too. McLean for the hosts and Alfie Chang for the visitors.

  9. goal

    Josh Laurent (15 mins)

Stoke strike back from a corner!

Will Smallbone arrows his set-piece delivery from the right towards the far post, where an almighty scramble ensues as several players unsuccessfully attempt to shoot or clear the ball.

Dwight Gayle is among those to go close, and the Potters eventually prevail as Josh Laurent slams a close-range shot into the back of the net!

  10. Postpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    League One latest

No goals so far in the two games tonight.

Port Vale have dominated the opening minutes at Morecambe but neither side have troubled the goalkeeper.

The home side’s need far greater than the visitors.

Morecambe begin the night a point from safety with Port Vale 15 points outside the play-offs.

Cambridge are just a point above Morecambe and are 0-0 at Fleetwood, who have a seven-point buffer on the bottom four.

    Blackburn 0-0 Blackpool

Blackburn v BlackpoolImage source, Rex Features

Blackpool have generally sat deep and waited for chances on the counter-attack so far, which seems a wise option given their current run of three successive away defeats in the league.

Dangerman Jerry Yates almost has a sight of goal after a ball drops to him at close range on the right hand side of the penalty area, but the striker can't dig possession out from under his feet and Rovers hack the half-chance clear.

    Rotherham 0-0 Sunderland

Rotherham forward Jordan Hugill has had an early chance for the home side as they look to score for the first time in three games, producing an attempted finish that lacked the conviction to threaten an end to that barren run.

Sunderland look sharper in the final third, Alex Pritchard at the heart of much of their best work.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Millwall 0-0 Burnley

The Championship leaders go very close to going in front but are denied by a brilliant stop by George Long in the Millwall goal.

The Lions give the ball away allowing the Clarets to break and Anass Zaroury does very well to control Ashley Barnes' overhit pass before getting his shot away.

It's a good effort on target and Long gets a crucial touch to divert it wide.

    Norwich 0-0 Birmingham

Norwich v BirminghamImage source, PA Media

It's been all Norwich early on at Carrow Road and they've had a couple of openings through Kieran Dowell.

The second chance came through a mazy run through the box but Dowell was denied by John Ruddy as he got in on goal.

The Birmingham goalkeeper also had to be alert earlier on to deny Adam Idah.

    Morgan Whittaker (2 mins)

    Dream start for Swansea!

Stoke partially clear a cross whipped in from a free-kick, falling to Joe Allen beyond the midway point of the visitors' half, who chips a delivery back inside the box.

Morgan Whittaker shows terrific composure, chesting the pass neatly down and slotting into the back of the net with a clinical finish!

  18. Can you fix it Neil? No he can't!published at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Southport P-P Spennymoor United

It's a bit on the nippy side in some areas of England tonight - and there might be a bit of rain in the air. But it seemed like the time of year for football postponements was over.

Until Southport came up with a very unusual one.

Tonight’s National League North League meeting with Spennymoor United has been called off by the Sandgrounders as the boiler in the dressing room area at Haig Avenue has broken - and they can’t get hold of the spare parts to fix it.

BBC Radio Merseyside's Neil TurnerImage source, Neil Turner

In close to 2,000 matches covering football for the BBC, long-serving Radio Merseyside reporter Neil Turner has seen a fair few called off too - six of them this season, in fact. But never this!

“In all my days in football, playing and broadcasting, I have never experienced this,” he said. “All sorts of weather reasons, a streaker, even (God rest him) an official collapsing, but never the boiler blowing. You couldn’t make it up.”

  19. Struggling sides in action in fourth tierpublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    League Two preview

It's a similar story in League Two, where many of the sides in action are in the lower reaches of the division.

Rochdale start five points adrift at the bottom and will stay at the foot of the table regardless of their result against neighbours Stockport, while 22nd-placed Hartlepool host 19th-placed Newport.

Harrogate, who are 21st, go to Grimsby, while Walsall and Crewe meet in Tuesday's other game.

  20. Morecambe and Cambridge aim to move out of drop zonepublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    League One preview

The focus for tonight's two games in League One is at the bottom of the table, rather than the top.

Morecambe and Cambridge start their fixtures against Port Vale and Fleetwood respectively in the relegation zone, but could move out of the bottom four with wins.
