    We brought you news earlier that Spurs boss Anyonio Conte will remain at home as he fully recovers from gallbladder surgery.

    He has outlined on Instagram how serious the issue was:

    “My great sense of responsibility towards the club, the players, the staff and the fans, brought me to anticipate my comeback on field.

    “Sadly, I underestimated the procedure, which wasn’t a routine operation, but a sudden and serious emergency.

    “My body has suffered my impatience, and now I am forced to stop until my entire recovery.

    While we are waiting for Sean Dyche, here is a little more on that contract extension for Leeds United's Luke Ayling.

    "All my focus is on Leeds United staying in the Premier League this season, but it goes without saying that I love this football club and I am delighted to extend my stay into next year," said the 31-year-old defender.

    Leeds have exercised a clause in Ayling's contract to extend his deal until the summer of 2024.

    He would have been out of contract at the end of this season before the extension was triggered.

    Ayling has made 237 appearances for Leeds since joining from Bristol City in 2016.

    It started off well against Arsenal but Everton suffered a morale-sapping Merseyside derby defeat against Liverpool on Monday.

    But manager Sean Dyche suggested three points from his first two games are a bonus and the real tests start now.

    The Toffees have two huge back-to-back home games coming up, against Leeds on Saturday followed by Aston Villa next weekend.

    You would think their results at Goodison Park will dictate whether they stay up at the season or not.

    Dyche is due to face the cameras here at their training ground very shortly.

    Leeds United said on Tuesday that Michael Skubala would carry on as the club's caretaker manager for their "upcoming fixtures" as they continue to search for Jesse Marsch's full-time successor.

    The club, who are 17th in the Premier League, go to 18th-placed Everton on Saturday in a crucial game.

    Under 21-coach Skubala, 40, has been in temporary charge since Marsch was sacked last week.
