  1. 'A massive win...and ominous'published at 09:17 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2023

    Arsenal 1-3 Man City

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's maybe an element of release from [Manchester] City, frustration from a team that haven't played to the level which they've shown previously.

They're still a good team, but they came here with the pressure on and lots of talk about losing the last three away games.

I think that is a massive win, and ominous. They haven't got going yet so when they hit the top level, heaven help everybody else.

  2. A little Pep talkpublished at 09:11 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2023

Pep Guardiola certainly has been here before James, and he is doing his best to make sure his players do not feel the pressure that comes with being the front runners, even though they are well used to that.

After Wednesday night's game he declared that Arsenal were still technically top because they had a game in hand.

You can bet that his players will be made to feel they are still chasing the Gunners...a clever ploy.

Arsenal fan here. It’s obviously disappointing dropping into second, but City were the better team overall last night. We’ve been top most of the season and the pressure has been on us more than City. It’ll be interesting to see how we bounce back with the pressure now on them. I know they’ve been here before, so it’s going to be tough, but there’s still a long way to go! COYG

Here is a little bit more from Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who says he now has "more belief" that his side can win the title, despite their 3-1 defeat by Manchester City at Emirates Stadium.

The loss saw City replace them at the top of the table on goal difference.

"I have more belief than I had before the game," Arteta told BBC Sport. "With the performance and the level the team put in, we had the feeling we could beat them. Until the second goal we had them.

"But we gave them three goals and the game at the end. Certain errors at this level, you can't make. At the same time, the team put the level very high.

"The difference was in the boxes, they had three chances and they put them away. We had chances and we didn't put them away."

This is a massive blow for Arsenal, how will they recover?

Yes they have a game in hand but I thought City were excellent in the second half.

They've flexed their muscles and said to Arsenal 'we are the team to beat'.

The most damaging blow Manchester City inflicted on Arsenal with victory in the biggest Premier League game of the season so far may just have been a psychological one.

City's win at Emirates Stadium saw them swap places with the Gunners, returning to the top of the table for the first time since 5 November.

The gap may seem like the smallest of margins, City at the summit on goal difference having played a game more than Mikel Arteta's side. But this win - plus the manner of it and where it was achieved - made it feel much more than that.

Scratch beneath the surface and it is hard to escape the sense that this highly-charged encounter in north London might just have been the night when the momentum in the title race shifted decisively.

  7. 'I love this team'published at 08:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2023

    Arsenal 1-3 Man City

It looks like Jack Grealish is warming to the title battle - his goal at Arsenal followed an assist in Sunday's 3-1 win at home to former club Aston Villa.

Chelsea drew a blank in their Champions League last-16 first-leg tie at Borussia Dortmund, who will take a 1-0 advantage to Stamford Bridge following a superb solo goal from Karim Adeyemi.

Graham Potter's side had their chances, as Joao Felix shot over from a good position and then hit the crossbar in the first half, while Reece James forced two fine saves out of Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel after the break.
