    Chelsea v Southampton (Sat, 15:00)

    Southampton

Southampton interim manager Ruben Selles, speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier League match at Chelsea, on whether he wants the permanent job: "Yes, I want to be the manager.

"If you ask me three or four months ago I would say yes i am as capable to do that as any other. But it is not my decision and that is OK for me.

"I just do everything I can. I have the team now, we are working really hard to do our best. Those are my skills. The people who run the club will make a decision, but, of course, I would be more than happy to do the job."

  2. 'I have a feeling Kevin & Jack can do more'published at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

Nottm Forest v Man City (Sat, 15:00)

    Manchester City

"They can do better - that would be the best word. I know the demand we will have ahead of us to the end of the season against tough and aggressive opponents. We need the players who have the feeling that we can do better."

  4. 'Without doubt leaders are most important thing'published at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

Nottm Forest v Man City (Sat, 15:00)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on the importance of strong leadership: "Without doubt it is the most important thing. I have had some huge characters at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and here. In a tough moment, they [leaders] take a step forward and go there without fear.

"Playing good or bad is not the most important thing in a long season, especially when trying to win titles. The quality of play is impossible to maintain in every single week, when you are playing three times in a week.

"We are in the position I could have dreamed to be at the start of the season. I would not have expected to be a lot of points in front after winning titles back to back, it's almost impossible."

  5. Grealish has shown 'ambition & aggression to attack the back line'published at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

Nottm Forest v Man City (Sat, 15:00)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on the form of Jack Grealish: "Obviously he is playing really good. It is not just about his quality, but his ambition and aggression to beat people and attack the back line.

"The quality has always been there, but now he shows a commitment to taking a risk, but he has to continue.

Why have you had such success, winning 10 titles in 13 completed seasons? "I don't know. Obviously in the big clubs I have been at - at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City - you have more chance to win titles because you have exceptional players. I have also a good staff helping me a lot. I have had a lot of assistant managers, not just the same one all along, and all have contributed to that success."

  6. 'It's massive to have options'published at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

    Newcastle v Liverpool (Sat, 17:30)

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp on the importance of players returning to fitness: "It's massive. But again, Bobby [Firmino] was eight weeks, Diogo [Jota] was longer. We need to look at how we use them, but with games coming up, you need to change.

"Hopefully it stays like this. You need it to get consistency in performances."

  7. 'Bajcetic is a joy to work with'published at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

    Newcastle v Liverpool (Sat, 17:30)

    Liverpool

More from Jurgen Klopp on Stefan Bajcetic: "Top talent. Super player, he has played well. He has been a joy to work with. The mix of Serbia and Spain is a good one for football.

"He is an intelligent boy. His dad and Thiago's dad played together for Celta Vigo, so Thiago took him under his wing a little bit. He has a great bunch of players around him."

  8. Klopp rates 'exceptional' Bajceticpublished at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

    Newcastle v Liverpool (Sat, 17:30)

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp on 18-year-old midfielder Stefan Bajcetic: "We judge every game whether he is ready. So far, there are no signs that he isn't okay to play.

"There are long breaks between the games at the moment. How it is with three games, I don't know. We have other games as well. He played exceptional [against Everton], not just because he's 18, but he was exceptional.

"We had senior players not available for a long time; they are options now. Long may it continue."

  9. 'Momentum is winning 10 games in a row - that didn't happen to us'published at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

Nottm Forest v Man City (Sat, 15:00)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier League match at Nottingham Forest, on going top of the table above Arsenal on goal difference: "They [Arsenal] have one game in hand so nothing has changed much. We are just thinking about Nottingham Forest."

On playing with momentum: "Momentum is winning 10 games in row and that didn't happen to us this season."

On playing Nottingham Forest: "We need to be ready mentally against a team that have lost just one game in six. They are playing at home with the crowd and I have a lot of respect for the manager - for what he has done this season."

  11. 'Newcastle are unrecognisable'published at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

    Newcastle v Liverpool (Sat, 17:30)

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp on Newcastle: "Eddie Howe has done an exceptional job, absolutely exceptional. The financial possibilities they have, or will have, are exceptional, but it is not because of that, not at all. He arrived in a difficult situation, they stayed comfortably in the league, now the team is unrecognisable.

"He's improved players like [Miguel] Almiron, I always liked him but the way they are playing suits him. Callum Wilson is a fantastic striker, Bruno Guimaraes is massive for them. But he's turned them around and they are a proper threat."

  12. Van Dijk fit to playpublished at 12:32 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "[I think] Virgil van Dijk is available. Yesterday, he looked ready. Today he will look the same, and we'll make a decision."

  13. 'We have to chase everybody'published at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

    Newcastle v Liverpool (Sat, 17:30)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier League match at Newcastle: "This is a massive game. If you want to reach something this season, we have to chase everybody, especially those who are ahead of us in the table.

"It will never be easy, but we have to try. It'll be tough; Newcastle are the best defence in the league, lost just once to us, we needed a late goal. They are very consistent and that is the first step to success."

  18. Referee body cameras to be trialledpublished at 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

Referee body cameras will be trialled in four adult grassroots leagues in England, starting this weekend.

The intention of the bodycam trial is to improve behaviour and respect from players and spectators towards officials.

The Football Association pilot is the first of its kind anywhere in the world, and comes after permission was granted by the game's lawmaking body, the International Football Association Board.

The partner leagues trialling the bodycams are in Middlesbrough, Liverpool, Worcester and Essex, the FA said.

The announcement of the trial comes in the week when hundreds of referees surveyed by BBC Radio 5 Live reported receiving abuse.

Interim boss Michael Skubala has taken the pressure off the Leeds players, according to Patrick Bamford, who said "the lads love him".

After overseeing a draw and a defeat against Manchester United, the 40-year-old will remain in charge as Leeds continue their search for Jesse Marsch's successor.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds' Adam Pope, Bamford said: "Things have changed. The atmosphere was always good here but I feel like with Skoobs it is relaxed now.

"Not to the point where you can get away with unnecessary things but he has taken the pressure away and he’s put his own imprint on things, but also included the players within the discussions.

"It’s not like hard and fast, he’s giving his ideas but also knows and appreciates we have good players. Sometimes it’s about giving them ideas but also giving them the freedom to do what they see best on the pitch."
