    Liverpool continue to plug away.

They chip a couple of balls into the City box from a central area, but the home side stand tall to head both clear.

City continue to ooze menace when they come forward, Liverpool's own attacking efforts are more frantic.

Referees get stick. Some of it is deserved.

But you can't doubt that it is a tough job when players are throwing themselves to the floor and outright cheating in search of an advantage.

This reminds me of Liverpool's performance against Real Madrid in Anfield where they bottled a 2-nil lead to somehow lose 5-2, if they aren't careful could see a repeat.

If you want to improve the quality of the refereeing then give people a reason to go into refereeing. I wouldn’t get out of bed to spend 90mins getting abused by 22 players.

    Liverpool almost back in it!

Cody Gakpo is released into the City box. He turns neatly and fires a shot that deflects just past the far post.

As a Liverpool fan and overall sports fan, nothing will ever change regarding players conduct until it's changed at the top down through to grass roots of my favourite sport. I'd love to see it how rugby deals with it. Never happen!
