    Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton

Not a great start as Bournemouth boot the ball straight out for a throw.

Bu the Cherries soon win the ball back and drive forward with Hamed Traore before he's tackled at the edge of the box.

This is the second time Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell have been caretaker managers of Leicester.

In February 2019, with the incoming Brendan Rodgers in the stands, they beat Brighton 2-1.

Can they make it 2/2 tonight?

Marut: Chelsea without a manager, Liverpool with a poor defence and midfield, will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

    Chelsea v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

Liverpool could lose three successive Premier League matches for the first time since February 2021.

They have lost five of their 11 Premier League games so far in 2023 - already one more than in the whole of 2022.

Liverpool's tally of eight Premier League away defeats already matches their total number from the last three seasons combined.

Has Graham Potter done the job which was expected of him? No, but I'm really surprised at the timing as much as anything.

If Todd Boehly didn't want Graham Potter, there were other more natural breaks earlier on in the season and especially when they'd been on a pretty decent run going into the Aston Villa game.

The bottom line with Chelsea as far as I can see; this isn't Potter's mess, it's the owner's mess. He was Boehly's man.

Why would you sack him at this stage when they were never going to get in the top four places anyway?

They've been on an OK run and looked like they were maybe turning a corner. It's just sheer panic.

Each of the last five meetings between Chelsea and Liverpool in all competitions have been draws.

The last three have ended goalless. There have only ever been four successive 0-0 draws between two top-flight clubs - Everton against Liverpool between 1974-1975 and Arsenal versus QPR between 1992-1994.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Premier League manager sackings

Jurgen Klopp admits he is still Liverpool manager "because of the past" rather than his team's current form.

A record 12 Premier League managers have been dismissed this season - including Graham Potter at today's opponents.

Liverpool are in danger of their worst league finish under Klopp, but his position is yet to come under scrutiny.

"If it was my first season it would be slightly different," said the German.

"I'm aware of the fact that I'm sitting here because of the past, not because of what we did this season.

"There is no need [for me] to be afraid, I am here to deliver, I'm not here as a talisman or for murals on house walls.

"I know I'm still here because of what happened in the last few years.

"I don't like the fact that I pretty much have to rely on that. Is it right or not? We'll see in the future."

It will be a bit eerie.

There isn't a Roberto di Matteo figure taking over as interim boss or a John Terry as I saw some fans were suggesting.

It's going to be essentially the same staff that were with Potter and are only in situ for a matter of days or weeks.

If a ready-made replacement was brought in today and in the dugout that would be amazing. This is big for the players, for the motivation and for feeling among the squad.

They need some momentum before they play Real.

The last time Chelsea were in the bottom half of the table so late into a season was the end of 1995-96, when they finished 11th.

They have only won three Premier League games in 2023 (D5, L5).

Leeds' senior men team aren't going to be winning any notable silverware this season, but that doesn't mean the club are finishing empty handed.

The Leeds United women's team are currently on the pitch at Elland Road, lapping up warm applause and showing off the FA Women's National League Plate they won on 26 March. The Whites beat Stourbridge 3-1 in the final.

Chelsea interim boss Bruno Saltor makes his managerial debut today.

The former Brighton defender followed Graham Potter from Albion to Chelsea - but has stuck round after his friend's sacking.

"It's been really difficult, at every single level, especially emotionally," said Bruno, 42.

"You have to do the press conference, you have to deal with the players - it's hard.

"My relationship with Graham and Billy [Reid], and how it affects families - it's difficult to deal with that.

"It's a sad day for the staff because Graham and Billy are two top coaches and top human beings.

"I have to be as professional as I can and try to help and guide the players. I'm just focusing on what I can control and going day by day."

  16. Chris Sutton's predictionspublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 4 April 2023

    Chelsea v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

    BBC Sport columnist Chris Sutton

Saturday's defeat at Manchester City was as poor a performance as I can remember from Liverpool. It was a completely one-sided game.

The most astonishing thing about seeing that happen is that we know City can do it to most teams in the Premier League, but Liverpool have been their greatest rivals in the past five seasons. Not any more, because there is a tremendous gulf between the two teams.

Defensively and in midfield, Jurgen Klopp's side were an absolute shambles so how can I back them to win at Stamford Bridge?

Equally, though, why would I back Chelsea to beat anyone at the moment? I made that mistake again at the weekend, when they huffed and puffed against Villa in Graham Potter's final game as manager.

I do think the Blues are better when Ben Chilwell is in the team, but they still don't take their chances.

This has got a draw written all over it but I am going to resist the temptation to say 1-1 and pick a winner. I am going to go for Chelsea, reluctantly, on the basis that Liverpool are so bad in midfield.

    Prediction: 1-0

    Bournemouth v Brighton (19:45 BST)

Brighton midweek statsImage source, Getty Images
    • Bournemouth have won their last two Premier League home games, as many as in their previous 11 at Vitality Stadium (D4 L5). They've not won three in a row at home in the top-flight since February 2018.
    • Brighton have lost two of their four Premier League games against promoted sides this season (W1 D1), more than they had in their previous 15 such matches (W7 D7). They lost their last such game against Fulham, last losing consecutively against promoted sides in April 2019 (3 in a row).
    • Bournemouth have faced more shots than any other Premier League side this season (467), while their average of facing 5.3 shots on target per game is their highest in a single top-flight campaign. Meanwhile, last time out against Brentford, Brighton registered their most ever shots (33) and shots on target (15) in a single Premier League match.

    Tuesday talking point

    Craig Beazley, UTCIAD, external

Gary O'Neil deserves great credit for turning around our fortunes against Fulham. While I appreciate we should never have started like we did, two very good changes including Marcus Tavernier coming back into the side meant we turned the tide against a Fulham side flying high.

We now have got to believe we can get out of this and with Brighton at home coming up - our game in hand on some of those around us - we face Leicester on Saturday, and could push further away from the bottom three.

What was most satisfying was winning with some real determination and grit. Some of our players, Dango Ouattara especially, looked jaded after a long trips away on international duty. But they coped and now at the business end of the season, surely even the most pessimistic Cherries fan will admit it's looking much better.

Follow all things Bournemouth right here.

Roberto de Zerbi applauds supportersImage source, Getty Images

Roberto de Zerbi says he has to "thank" Graham Potter for the Brighton team he is working with now.

The Italian took over as Brighton head coach following Potter's departure to Chelsea in September.

"I'm really sorry and it is bad news for the coaches," said De Zerbi when asked about Potter being sacked by Chelsea.

"I think you give too much importance for the coaches, the players are always most important. I don't like when coaches are sacked, the responsibility is not only on the coaches."

Since taking over as the Seagulls boss, the former Benevento and Sassuolo manager has seen his side leapfrog Chelsea to now sit sixth in the Premier League and on course for a European spot next season.

Discussing opponents Bournemouth, he said he feels they are a "very good team" and added: "It will be difficult. They have quality".
