  1. Chris Sutton's predictionspublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 4 April 2023

    Bournemouth v Brighton (19:45 BST)

    BBC Sport columnist Chris Sutton

Bournemouth were one of the teams I said would be relegated when I was asked at the start of the season, but I wouldn't write them off now. I really admire the way they are scrapping for everything.

I had them down to draw against Fulham on Saturday but they ended up doing even better than that, and coming from behind to win.

They will give everything again against Brighton but picking up more points is going to be a much bigger ask.

I love watching the Seagulls because I see a side who only know one way to play, and that's to attack.

Brentford exploited the space they left at the back a bit at the weekend to get a draw, but Roberto de Zerbi's side didn't care - they were fearless. I still think they could have scored more goals, and they were the ones who felt like they had dropped points.

So, with apologies to Bournemouth because I never back them to win, I am tipping the Seagulls to edge this one and continue their push for a European place.

    Chelsea v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Strange atmosphere around Stamford Bridge tonight with indicators on both sides of how this season just has not gone as planned or hoped for Chelsea and Liverpool.

Chelsea are seeking their third manager of the campaign after Graham Potter was sacked following Saturday's home defeat to Aston Villa, with coach Bruno Saltor acting as interim.

Liverpool will end this term empty handed after chasing an historic quadruple, with the top four now their only hope of salvaging a mediocre season.

And Klopp has made those six changes in an attempt to get more out of his side then he did when they were humbled 4-1 at Manchester City at the weekend.

  3. 'I hope we can show a reaction'published at 19:25 British Summer Time 4 April 2023

    Chelsea v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "It didn't work out in the last weeks so that's the moment when you have to make changes. I really hope we can show the reaction. As a group we have to show a reaction.

"Saturday, Tuesday is always something when you have to think about changes. I think things combined a little bit because we are not overly happy. There must be the opportunity for other players."

Jonjo Shelvey has form at Leeds.

The midfielder once scored a hat-trick at Elland Road as Blackpool won 5-0 in November 2011. Whites fans know this only as 'the Paul Rachubka game', when the keeper fell apart with repeated errors in a first-half that signalled the end of his career at the club. He was hauled off at the break, sent out on loan not long after and never played for United again.

Shelvey also scored the only goal - again helped by a keeper error from Illan Meslier - as Newcastle won here 1-0 last season. That result was a turning point in the Magpies season - the first in a run of five wins in six games that saw them fly away from the bottom three.

Shelvey and Forest will be hoping for a repeat of all that here tonight.

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper knows his side "can't ignore" their form away from home.

Forest have not won a game on the road in the Premier League since beating Southampton on 4 January.

"There will be a lot of negative things said about our away form and we just have to accept those comments because the form is what it is and we can’t hide away from that," said Cooper.

"I said before the last game we've got to own it and try to do something about it and we still have that mindset.

"We can still do something about it and that's our intention."

Forest head to relegation rivals Leeds for their rearranged fixture sitting 15th in the league, but just one point above the bottom three.

It is not far off 11 years ago that Forest came to Elland Road for a Tuesday night game and found themselves part of an 11-goal rollercoaster ride.

It was the 2011-12 season. One Leeds began with Simon Grayson in charge, briefly had Neil Redfearn in the post and ended it with Neil Warnock and an absolute capitulation. Having taken charge on the 18 February, Warnock had lost one six prior to Forest's visit but ended the night with his side having conceded seven for the first time in their history.

They had the temerity to take the lead too, in just the sixth minute. They also pulled the game back to 3-3 after having fallen 3-1 behind. After that Garath McCleary toom charge, adding three more goals to the one he'd already scored, with Dexter Blackstock also nabbing one.

"Embarrassed" was how Neil Warnock described his feelings after. You can read our report here.

What odds would you get on an 11-goal thriller tonight?

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery speaking to Sky Sports News: "We are excited to play today and excited to show our best performance.

"Firstly it is not good news for the coaches [who have been sacked] because I think we have to respect each others work and he did very amazing work here

"We are going to try and continue with our idea and with a new coach I think they [Leicester] are going to change something. We are going to try and be focused on our work and try and win here."

Luke: Villa win, Bournemouth win, Chelsea and Liverpool draw, Villa up to 6th. You heard it here first!

Will: I was really hopeful of a Leeds win until I saw Chris Sutton's prediction at 18:41. Now I guess we'll lose 3-2 and get relegated.

Aston Villa have won nine of their 15 games under Unai Emery - only Arsenal, with 12, and Manchester City, with 10, have won more often since Emery's appointment.

But Emery has lost his last three Premier League games against Leicester. He's only ever lost more consecutive league fixtures as a manager against Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla.

They have scored in their last 15 Premier League matches - the longest current run of any team.

You look at the likes of Maddison and Barnes and Tielemans, they have quality, but I do think they're in a real scrap. What I don't understand is that they've sacked Brendan Rodgers but now they've got Mike Stowell in charge.

You've got a couple of - with respect - rookies and you think they can do a better job than a guy who has had a good record in management?

I thought the board weren't going to act and they were going to leave it with Brendan Rodgers until the end of the season, and hope and pray that we picked up enough wins to stay in the Premier League, then make a decision in the summer.

I think we're too late, that's the camp I'm in.

For the past 18 months there has been a steady decline.

At the start of this season when we were fighting at the bottom end of the table and that's where the season looked like it was going to go, I didn't think he had the stomach for that kind of fight and the managerial qualities to pitch a way through those turmoil times.

  16. Chris Sutton's predictionspublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 4 April 2023

Leicester v Aston Villa (19:45 BST)

    BBC Sport columnist Chris Sutton

Whoever takes charge of Leicester now has two home games this week, against Aston Villa on Tuesday and then Bournemouth on Saturday, and how they do is going to be crucial in deciding whether they stay up.

Crystal Palace were better than the Foxes on Saturday but would Brendan Rodgers have been sacked if Palace had not scored a last-minute winner? I'm not sure, but it is very tight at the bottom and it just shows you how much clubs panic when they drop into the bottom three.

No-one is adrift - even Southampton ran West Ham close at the weekend. The Hammers would have been bottom if they had lost, but their victory meant they leapt from 19th to 14th.

A Leicester win would see them do similar - they could actually go as high as 13th - but the issue I always have with them is that I don't think they are strong enough defensively.

I covered their game on Saturday and Palace, who were the joint-lowest scorers in the Premier League, had 20 shots against them in the first half.

Leicester have to go for the win here and the home crowd will be right behind them which will definitely help, but it doesn't change the fact that the Foxes are too easy to get at.

Villa are still doing very well under Unai Emery, especially away from home, and they will have enough nous to open them up.

Want some stats on Leicester not being very good? Your luck is in.

Leicester City have lost five of their last seven Premier League home games - they had been defeated in only four of the previous 19.

Leicester have conceded at least once in each of their last 13 Premier League games, the longest current run without a clean sheet of any top-flight team.

They remain the only side without a Premier League clean sheet since the World Cup, shipping 24 goals in 13 games.

The Foxes have dropped a league-high 22 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season.

Leicester City first-team coach Adam Sadler: "Jamie [Vardy] is extremely experienced and we need experience on the pitch tonight.

"There's mixed emotions. We're disappointed we've lost Brendan [Rodgers] - a really good man and a top manager. But equally we have got a game tonight and we have had limited time to prepare.

"Villa are in great form but the circumstances we find ourselves in, this is a chance to unify everybody. We have to be completely together and attack the game with everything we have got."
