Erik ten Hag in particular will be frustrated that his team is not in front.

I can't blame Antony for going on his own then. But once he has ignored Marcus Rashford, he has to score.

This Everton corner is aimed for James Tarkowski (like most). It floats over him at the back post.

Everton respond. Demarai Gray looks to beat Harry Maguire in the box, who holds the Toffees forward for a moment and then concedes a corner.

Bruno Fernandes floats a wonderful pass over Ben Godfrey to release Antony. He charges in on goal from the left but his shot lacks precision and Jordan Pickford saves.

Surely, we're going to get a goal soon!

He didn’t get enough power on it and it went wide.

Ellis Simms takes a leaf out of the Aaron Wan-Bissaka book of chance conversion after being found in space in the box. He is allowed to turn and and has time to pick his spot, but drags his effort tamely wide of the far post.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has never scored a senior professional goal in front of supporters.

The only two he did get were in 2020, when there were no fans in the ground.

I can only assume, facing a packed Stretford End, he was caught by surprise then when the ball bounced back off a post.

The execution was poor.

Everton are having to dig in. They're largely chasing the ball here.

Antony looks to be in the mood.

His darting run down the left helps win United another corner.

It is taken short and Tyrell Malacia is set up for a shot from range that he blasts into the stand.

The corner is cleared but only as far as Anthony, who fires a shot that hits the post of the Everton goal. No matter, though, as the ball bobbles out to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has only to tap into a largely empty net.

Somehow, he finds a way to tap his shot past the other post and wide.

This is going the way I think everyone imagined.

Man Utd are the ones trying to force the issue and looking more consistently dangerous. Everton are digging in and looking a threat on the break and from set-pieces.
