Marcus Rashford is the latest man to see a shot blocked in the Everton box.

So many chances, but zero goals.

That is five clear chances in this game. None of them taken.

Erik ten Hag in particular will be frustrated that his team is not in front.

I can't blame Antony for going on his own then. But once he has ignored Marcus Rashford, he has to score.

Almost a repeat of the Antony chance from a few moments ago!

This time it is David de Gea's quick thinking to release him. Ben Godfrey also gets back on this occasion to produce a perfectly-timed tackle.

This Everton corner is aimed for James Tarkowski (like most). It floats over him at the back post.

Everton respond. Demarai Gray looks to beat Harry Maguire in the box, who holds the Toffees forward for a moment and then concedes a corner.

    Should be 1-0, part two!

Bruno Fernandes floats a wonderful pass over Ben Godfrey to release Antony. He charges in on goal from the left but his shot lacks precision and Jordan Pickford saves.

Surely, we're going to get a goal soon!

Anon: Got to be goals in this game, that's one dreadful miss each in the first 20 minutes.

Ellis Simms should have done a lot better with his chance.

He didn’t get enough power on it and it went wide.

Sean Dyche on the touchline had his head in his hands.

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

This is a really good game, helped by a bit of ambition from Everton.

In looking to hurt the home side, they leave themselves open to a counter, which United stage and ends in Marcel Sabitzer firing straight at Jordan Pickford.

    Oh, big miss!

Ellis Simms takes a leaf out of the Aaron Wan-Bissaka book of chance conversion after being found in space in the box. He is allowed to turn and and has time to pick his spot, but drags his effort tamely wide of the far post.

    Zero conviction.

Sho: Should be 2 up already. Poor finishing has plagued us all season. Can't wait to have a proper 9 next season.

Anon: Antony is looking impressive today. Come on United!

Matt: Yet again, this game shows United's inability to actually score goals. I struggle to see where they will come from other than Rashford.

Here is a chance for Everton.

Demarai Gray is fouled by Tyrell Malacia on the right, near the home box. This will go in to the danger zone.

  14. Wan-Bissaka caught by surprisepublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has never scored a senior professional goal in front of supporters.

The only two he did get were in 2020, when there were no fans in the ground.

I can only assume, facing a packed Stretford End, he was caught by surprise then when the ball bounced back off a post.

    The execution was poor.

Antony looks to be in the mood.

His darting run down the left helps win United another corner.

It is taken short and Tyrell Malacia is set up for a shot from range that he blasts into the stand.

Anon: What a miss from Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He had to score, that could cost them in the game.

Inigo: Driving home from Scotland today. Nothing like a full day of football radio. Come on Everton!

  18. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 14 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    Should be 1-0!

The corner is cleared but only as far as Anthony, who fires a shot that hits the post of the Everton goal. No matter, though, as the ball bobbles out to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has only to tap into a largely empty net.

Somehow, he finds a way to tap his shot past the other post and wide.

    Excellent work from Alex Iwobi!

Anthony drives through the middle and finds Marcus Rashford in the box. Just as he is shaping to shoot, Iwobi steps in to tackle and concede a corner.

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

This is going the way I think everyone imagined.

Man Utd are the ones trying to force the issue and looking more consistently dangerous. Everton are digging in and looking a threat on the break and from set-pieces.

Speaking to the latter, a free-kick is launched into the home box and headed over by Amadou Onana.
