  1. 'We enjoy playing together'published at 15:20 BST 29 April 2023

FT: Crystal Palace 4-3 West Ham

    Crystal Palace

Jordan Ayew speaking to BBC Sport after Crystal Palace's 4-3 win against West Ham: "Pleased with the goal and the four goals, but not so pleased with the ones we conceded. Overall it was a good day, we are happy, have three points and now we need to keep on pushing to win more games."

Asked about his link up with the rest of the attack: "We enjoy playing together, we want to score goals get assists and be decisive, that is important and something we are trying to do more. Sometimes it works and sometimes not, but that is something we are trying to improve."

Asked about the job Roy Hodson has done: “Roy has come in and done a really good job, he has experience, calmness and we knew him before. He has given us belief to believe in our qualities and to express ourselves. Patrick did a good job but this is a ruthless business. But Roy has come in and done a really good job."

    Brighton 2-0 Wolves

It is only a matter of time before Brighton get a third. They are forcing Wolves into errors and Jose Sa passes straight to Danny Welbeck but he fails to hit the target. Should have done better.

Renan Lodi goes down on the edge of the Brentford box after a Forest attack breaks down.

Bryan Mbeumo, who made the challenge, tries to race onto it but Joe Worrall is there.

The referee halts play so Lodi can get treatment shortly afterwards but he's up quickly.

  4. 'Brighton brilliant at finding the killer pass'published at 15:18 BST 29 April 2023

    Brighton 2-0 Wolves

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on Final Score

That's what Brighton are brilliant at now.

In times gone by when they used to win the ball back they would then set about finding space for the next player.

Now it's about can you hit the killer pass? Can you make the opposition's mistake a bigger problem for them?

They did it perfectly then - they cut through Wolves so, so simply.

How is it that every player Brighton sign is ridiculously good?

The Seagulls have made five changes today and Wolves just cannot handle them as Danny Welbeck is in for a third but his shot is saved.

Brilliant Brighton are back. This was a brilliant flowing goal.

Pascal Gross to finished off the move, and it was a lovely goal.

  7. 'We aren't in the relegation battle anymore'published at 15:16 BST 29 April 2023

FT: Crystal Palace 4-3 West Ham

    Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson speaking to BBC Sport after his side's 4-3 win against West Ham: "It was a wonderful first half from our point of view, we played really well, did all the things we hoped we could do and our quality players produced.

Quality to West Ham to keep coming down from 2 goals behind, they’ve had a hectic schedule and it was incredible what they were able to do from set pieces, keeping the game alive."

Asked about the impressive attack his side have: "Sometimes there’s one or two too many flicks, but they were good today, the goals we scored today were good goals. We kept sustaining attackers and then winning the all back so well when they cleared it.

If you’re going to become a good attacking team you can do you work and get the patterns of play how you want but without the quality of the players nobody notices it. The way we’ve worked here is exactly the same as we did four years ago, but now the club is set up with a more potent set up than before."

Asked about Crystal Palace's chances of survival: "Its true, we quite frankly were looking at two of the last three games being in the relegation battle, that I won’t say with us because we aren’t in it anymore, as being the games that we would need to produce something against to stay up.

Now it’s up to the players, we're going to keep working as staff so it will be up to them to see if they can keep producing the performances they have in the last six in the last four."

So far so good for Keilor Navas from set-pieces. Forest are being asked to do some defending at the moment though.

Brentford fans sing "you're going down" at the travelling fans. Ouch.

    Brilliant stuff from Brighton!

Wolves are torn apart as Julio Enciso charges forward and plays a brilliant ball through the defence for Pascal Gross to bend into the back of the net.

    Brentford 0-0 Nottingham Forest

    Danny Gabbidon

This is a much better response from Brentford, they've got a foothold in the game now. I would probably say Forest started the better but Brentford are now asking questions of Forest.

Brentford are starting to settle now. It's a nice overlapping build-up as Bryan Mbeumo wins a corner on the right.

Good run by Pedro Neto and he bursts into the box but then the referee pulls back play for an earlier foul by Diego Costa on Adam Webster.

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is fuming.

  14. 'Great start for Brighton'published at 15:11 BST 29 April 2023

    Brighton 1-0 Wolves

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on Final Score

A lovely bit of finesses from Danny Welbeck to send the ball goalwards.

Beautiful run from Deniz Undav to get in between the two defenders, and the simplest of finishes to round it off.

Aaron Hickey does well to beat Serge Aurier on the left but Orel Mangala blocks the cross.

Eeek. A bobbling ball in the box is not cleared and Mikkel Damsgaard makes decent contact on it. There's a crucial block by a Forest defender though.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was given as onside. It looks like Semedo's trailing foot is playing Undav just onside.

  19. 'I believe we've done enough'published at 15:08 BST 29 April 2023

FT: Crystal Palace 4-3 West Ham

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to BT Sport: "Pleased with the victory, I thought there were moments in the game where we played well. I have to give credit to West Ham because there were periods in the game where we were playing well enough to put them out of sight to some extent especially given they are playing three matches a week and we are much fresher.

"It was a good lesson for everyone in football that set plays are a big part of the game and if you become as good at set plays as they are, it's not always easy for your team no matter how hard you try to get your defence to deal with it, you've still got to deal with that individual battle where you have got to try and stop them getting the first or second header.

"If we had gone from 1-0 to 3-1 and then 4-2 and not won the match, it would have been a really bad day for us.

"We've got adventurous players, we had a lot of shots, created chances and I was really pleased with our passages of play. In the last 10 minutes or so you are worried that a long throw or a corner kick or long ball forward doesn't cost you the points.

"In the six games we have played, we lost one and arguably we shouldn't have lost it. There is no reason for me to believe that the other teams are going to get 12 points from four games and we are going to get nothing.

"I believe we've done enough, it's up to the players now, if they want a really good end to the season, to get some of those 12 points and lift us or keeping us at least in the position we are in the table at present."

  20. 'Forest are good up front'published at 15:08 BST 29 April 2023

    Brentford 0-0 Nottingham Forest

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

They are dangerous in those areas, Nottingham Forest, with the forward players they have. With playing it into Awoniyi and then Gibbs-White running off him.
