    Bournemouth 0-0 Leeds

It was a win here in 1990 that led to Leeds getting promoted to the top flight. A game that is etched in Whites history.

They need another big victory here today for very different reasons.

Bournemouth are going to make it very hard for them.

    Newcastle v Southampton (14:00 BST)

In Callum Wilson (7), Alexander Isak (5) and Miguel Almiron (5), Newcastle have had 3+ players score 5+ home goals in a single Premier League campaign for the first time since 2010-11 (Kevin Nolan, Andy Carroll, Shola Ameobi and Leon Best).

75% of Southampton's 12 Premier League away goals this season have been scored by either James Ward-Prowse (5) or Che Adams (4). Since their return to the top-flight in 2012, only in 2013-14 (Jay Rodríguez and Rickie Lambert) and 2020-21 (Ward-Prowse and Danny Ings) have Saints had two players score 5+ away goals in a campaign in the competition.

    Bournemouth v Leeds (14:00 BST)

As well as leading the way for chances created (50) and assists (7) for Leeds in the Premier League this season, Jack Harrison has made more ball carries (309) and carried the ball a further distance (3479m) than any other player for the Whites in the league this term.

    Newcastle v Southampton (14:00 BST)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I can’t help but feel they have got themselves into this situation through naïve decisions.

Look at the players who have gone – Ings, Hojbjerg, Targett, Tadic, Lemina - and one summer they sold the whole left side of their defence - Vestergaard and Bertrand – to Leicester. Who does that?

They have got a good squad of young and upcoming talent but I feel the process has been rushed too quickly.

The only experienced player who they haven’t sold is James Ward-Prowse and he is again their leading light this season.

The Aston Villa fans are singing about going on a European tour.

That just shows the progress that has been made since Unai Emery came to the club.

There is still some work to do but seventh placed would be enough for a Europa Conference League spot.

They last qualified for Europe in 2011. Of course, they most famously won the European Cup in 1982.

  8. 'Every game is dangerous'published at 13:54 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

Fulham v Manchester City (14:00 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports: "He [Kevin de Bruyne] doesn't feel good. He has some injury and he couldn't travel. I don't know how long [he will be unavailable].

"Julian Alvarez's impact has been really good since day one. Due to Erling [Haaland], he hasn't had the minutes that he deserves but his impact has been incredible. We need to win today and he has a good sense in front of goal."

On Erling Haaland closing in on breaking the Premier League goalscoring record: "He doesn't talk about records. It's just the media. We don't talk about that. We just look to be comfortable and it's only about how he performs."

On facing Fulham: "It's always dangerous. We did our job against Arsenal and now we have another job. We saw results over the last few days and we know it's going to be tough."

Man Utd v Aston Villa (14:00 BST)

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Chris Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Aston Villa could close the gap on Manchester United here to just three points, although Erik ten Hag's side would still have two games in hand.

I can see why Villa are on such a good run because Ollie Watkins carries a real threat, Emi Buendia is so creative and they have a properly balanced midfield.

They are on a high and playing with freedom and, although I think it will be close, I fancy Villa more.

United have been missing their first-choice centre-halves, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, and they don't look confident when teams have a go at them the way I am expecting Unai Emery's side to.

    Blanco's prediction: I don't like United! 0-1

    • Manchester United are unbeaten in 14 Premier League home games (W11 D3), the longest current ongoing run in the division. Their last defeat at Old Trafford was against Brighton on the opening weekend of the season.
    • Aston Villa have kept a clean sheet in nine of their 20 Premier League games under Unai Emery – it's just one fewer than Arsenal kept in 51 league games under the Spaniard (10).
    • Jacob Ramsey has scored in the past two Premier League meetings between Aston Villa and Manchester United – no Villa player has ever scored in three consecutive appearances against the Red Devils in the competition.
  11. 'It has to be the mindset of every player' - Ten Hag on creating a winning culturepublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

Man Utd v Aston Villa (14:00 BST)

Erik ten Hag said he wants to construct a culture at Manchester United that sees them enter every competition with the intention of winning it.

United missed the chance to go eight points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham with Thursday's 2-2 draw, but Ten Hag's side still have two games in hand on teams around them.

After winning the Carabao Cup and reaching the FA Cup final, Ten Hag was asked if those cup successes would be irrelevant if they ended up missing out on Champions League football.

He said: "As Manchester United, and as a top team, then you have to compete and go for the win in every competition you are in - so that’s what we are doing.

"That is the culture we want to construct, so that is what we are doing. And it has to be the mindset of every player and every employee who is working for Manchester United."

United threw away a two-goal lead against Spurs as they missed out on a fourth consecutive Premier League win.

When Ten Hag was asked how many times this season he has seen United play how he wants, he replied: "We had some games - like two weeks ago against Nottingham Forest. I think that, for instance, was almost optimum.

"You see it’s not so easy to play Forest – you see Liverpool struggling [against them] and Brighton struggling. That was a very good performance from our side.

"Manchester City - that was a brilliant game - and also Arsenal. Both games we played very well.

"[There have been] Many games where we are very dominant – Betis and Sevilla at home, Barcelona. So we had our games where we played very good football."

    • Fulham are winless in their past 15 Premier League meetings with Manchester City (D3 L12) since a 3-1 away win in April 2009. They've lost the past 10 in a row by an aggregate score of 28-4.
    • Erling Haaland has scored 33 Premier League goals for Manchester City this season, a record by a player in a 38-game season. He is one goal away from equalling the overall record in a season, set by Andrew Cole in 1993-94 and Alan Shearer in 1994-95 (34 goals) in 42-game campaigns.
    • This will be Haaland's 30th appearance, with his 33 goals already more than 21 clubs managed in total in their first 30 Premier League games.
    • Fulham have kept just one clean sheet in their 29 Premier League games against Man City, a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium in March 2004.
    • Only Middlesbrough (15 against Manchester United) have played more Premier League home games against an opponent without ever keeping a clean sheet than Fulham's 14 against City.
  13. Sutton's predictionpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

Fulham v Man City (14:00 BST)

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Chris Sutton's prediction: 1-3

I think the general consensus is that the Premier League title race is done - and Manchester City are going to win it for the fifth time in six seasons.

City were just brilliant against Arsenal on Wednesday, they just monstered the leaders really - they totally overpowered them.

The only real doubt I have now is whether City can get the balance right when they make changes.

That will be most important in the league games around their Champions League semi-final games against Real Madrid on 9 and 17 May, but they will probably rotate here too.

I wrongly accused Fulham of being on the beach when they were on a dreadful run of form a few weeks ago and I think they will score on Sunday - I just think City will score three. They are going to slip up at some point, just because of their schedule - but not this time.

Blanco's prediction: No surprises here! We will have too much for them, even if we make changes. Riyad Mahrez will grab a goal or maybe two. Bernardo Silva is way better than him defensively so we kind of need him on the right wing in the big games but Mahrez is still a brilliant player. 1-3

Blanco's favourite City players: There are so many players that have stood out for us this season but Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji deserve a special mention because I don't think many people expected them to play such an important role. I still rate Kyle Walker though and I think we need his pace against Vinicius Jr in that Real tie. It definitely didn't help that Fernandinho was up against him last time! As for Erling Haaland, well I wasn't sure he would fit in with our style but you watch him now and he has become so good at link-up play, as well as scoring goals obviously!

    Bournemouth v Leeds (14:00 BST)

Patrick Bamford misses a big chance for Leeds against LeicesterImage source, Getty Images

Former Leeds manager Simon Grayson believes "nervousness" and "anxiety" may have contributed to striker Patrick Bamford missing a gilt-edged chance in their 1-1 draw with Leicester.

In a huge game for two relegation-threatened teams, substitute Jamie Vardy cancelled out Luis Sinisterra's opener before Bamford scuffed wide from close range in the final minute.

Speaking to 5 Live Breakfast, Grayson said: "I think he'll have people reminding him about it, especially Leeds fans, for the next few weeks and hopefully it doesn't prove to be too crucial.

"It came across quickly but you expect somebody who has scored the number of goals that Bamford has to at least hit the target. He snatched at it. I suppose nervousness and anxiety can creep in.

"It would have been fantastic to see that ball hit the back of the net at the Kop end with all the Leeds supporters there.

"You're talking about Premier League players here who are quality players but also they are the strong characters.

"You have just got to trust that your belief, your confidence and your ability will make sure that next time you get that opportunity, you just relax a little bit and take it."

  15. 'It's tough for us to lose key players' - Sinisterra to miss rest of seasonpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    Bournemouth v Leeds (14:00 BST)

Leeds United boss Javi Gracia said it's "tough" to take another injury to a key player after Luis Sinisterra was ruled out for the rest of the season.

The winger, who has scored three goals in his past five appearances, was replaced during the midweek draw with Leicester City with an ankle injury.

Defender Max Wober remains a doubt for Sunday's game, while Gracia is yet to find out whether midfielder Tyler Adams will play again this season following hamstring surgery last month.

Speaking before Leeds' game at Bournemouth this weekend, Gracia said: "Luis will be out for the rest of the season. I think it's something in his ankle, a ligament.

"It's tough for us to lose key players. I prefer to not complain. I have enough players to compete better and try to work with them to find a way to get results."

Forward Wilfried Gnonto was an unused substitute against Leicester and has not started since the win over Wolves in March.

Gracia said: "You ask me about Willy many times and I always say the same. He's an exceptional player with an amazing character.

"The last game I decided to play with Cree [Crysencio Summerville], but I am sure in the next games Willy will have chances to show.

"I choose what's best for the team. I think both will help us for sure."

    • Having won nine of their first 10 Premier League games against promoted sides since their return to the division in 2020, Leeds have lost three of their five such games this term (W2).
    • Bournemouth have lost their last two Premier League home games, going down 2-0 against Brighton and 4-0 against West Ham. Only twice before have they lost three in a row at home in the top flight, doing so in April 2016 and December 2019.
    • Only Nottingham Forest (six) have won fewer away points than Leeds (nine) in the Premier League this season. The Whites have also kept just one clean sheet in their last 18 on the road - a 0-0 draw at Newcastle in December.
    • Each of Bournemouth's last six Premier League home goals have been scored by different players. Kieffer Moore is the Cherries' top scorer at the Vitality Stadium this season with four goals, though his last strike came in November.
  17. Southampton performance 'not good enough' - Walker-Peterspublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    Newcastle v Southampton (14:00 BST)

Kyle Walker Peter's felt Southampton's performance against Bournemouth was "disappointing" as they struggle to stay in the Premier League relegation battle.

Speaking to BBC Radio Solent after Thursday's 1-0 defeat, the defender said: "To come here and perform the way we did is not good enough, and we deserve what we have been given.

"I don't understand it either [struggling to create chances].

"We showed how deadly we can be against arguably the best team in the league [Arsenal] and then you come here against Bournemouth, who are in a similar situation to us, and we struggle to create anything until the last 10 minutes. It's really disappointing."

The defeat leaves Saints rooted to the bottom of the table, six points off safety with just five games remaining.

"All we have to do is focus on our performances and forget everything else, and just try to win every game," said the former Tottenham player.

"That's what we have tried to do all season. We've tried to win every game and it's just not really worked for us, so we'll go into the last five games and try to win them all and we'll see what happens.

"We have showed we can compete and that's what we'll try to do again. We'll take it game by game, starting with Sunday [against Newcastle United]."

Scotland and Aston Villa defender Rachel Corsie says Southampton must "keep fighting" but it is hard to see how they will earn points in their remaining Premier League fixtures.

In their final five matches this season, Saints face trips to Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Brighton, with home games to come against Fulham and Liverpool.

Corsie told BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily: "You can’t really see them getting a point from any of those games.

"Seeing the pictures when they scored the goal and it was disallowed [against Bournemouth], you just feel the disappointment and dejection of the players.

"I’m not excusing that, because they have to fight to the end, they have to keep believing and keep going.

"But that’s a really hard run-in and I imagine they are in a very low place.

"They are bottom of the league and in a tough situation which, to us, looks almost impossible to get out of."

    Newcastle v Southampton (14:00 BST)

    Ruben SellesImage source, Getty Images

Southampton manager Ruben Selles has called for his players to be "brave" ahead of a "must-win" game against Newcastle on Sunday.

Saints lost 1-0 at home to Bournemouth , externalon Thursday to leave themselves six points from safety with five games left to play.

"I think we have been talking about for the last five or six games, of course it is one we must win – more now than ever – but we are trying to go for it," said Selles.

"In the last game [vs Newcastle], we started a little bit slow and conceded two quick goals to put us out of the game.

"We cannot make those mistakes again as it is very difficult to make a comeback if you are down in the Premier League. We have to be brave from the very beginning, we have shown that we can cause damage in certain situations. We need to go for it."

Despite their perilous position, Selles has seen enough from his side recently to be optimistic ahead of the visit to St. James' Park.

"I think they have proven they are good enough to win games in the Premier League, we have performed against top teams," he said.

"That should be the boost we need to use for the next game, we should come in and say we can go against one of the top teams again."

    Newcastle v Southampton (14:00 BST)

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Chris Sutton's prediction: 5-0

This is the 'Alan Shearer derby' between two of his old clubs and there is only going to be one winner.

Southampton were a disgrace on Thursday, bearing mind they were at home and needed to win the game. I thought their performance was gutless and they offered so little in attack.

The position Saints are in, I was expecting them to play with desperation and throw everything they could at Bournemouth.

Instead, they looked like a team who had already been relegated. How on earth they got a point against Arsenal last week, I really don't know.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are just absolutely flying. They have everything they need to finish the season strongly and secure a top-four finish - I think they will wipe the floor with Southampton for starters.

Blanco's prediction: I did think we might see Southampton bounce a bit after they drew with Arsenal but they have gone now. 2-0
