Liverpool are very confident. They've played some good football recently and you can see that today.

Tottenham just aren't engaging and you can't do that at this level.

Spurs fans chanting "We Want Our Money Back." Well, I suppose a precedent has been set by the refund handed out after the thrashing at Newcastle United last Sunday.

This game looks over already and Spurs players look bewildered. They were 5-0 down in 20 minutes at Newcastle and they must already have a sinking feeling here.

Liverpool's goals were very well fashioned but this hapless Spurs team made it so easy for them.

Cody Gakpo is seeing plenty of the ball early on. Liverpool are knocking it around with ease and are being allowed to move into space unmarked.

Leeds boss Javi Gracia, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we started well. The first 15-20 minutes, we competed well, dominating with possession in the opposition half. But after conceding the first goal and then the second it was too much for us. We are living the same situations as the last games, conceding soft goals. If we are not strong and more aggressive, it is difficult to defend well and attack well.

"After scoring, we were on the game again and tried to keep going with a better spirit in the second half. It is tough because we are conceding from mistakes and easy goals. We try to reduce these mistakes but as a young team we are, sometimes you have to manage and to improve and compete well. There are four games left and we are in critical period. If you make mistakes, you are going to pay for it.

"I respect the supporters. I don't have anything to tell them. They want to see their team win, which we have to do.

"We need to work hard from tomorrow and prepare well for the next game."

I can't believe it. You have to look at the back five. The midfield and attack are fine.

The defence is miles off. They don't mark, they are ball watching and they are lazy.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Match of the Day: "I didn't have any doubt. The game was so tight until the end, we could not expect anything differently. This amount of games is a lot but we knew that after we beat Arsenal at home that winning these types of games is really important. The players behaved amazingly."

On Haaland becoming the first player top-flight player to score 50 goals in all competitions since 1931: "Before Winston Churchill was Prime Minister? Wow. Sounds a long time ago. Congratulations to Erling. The best goals to help us achieve what we want still is there."

On responding to Fulham's goal: "We responded really well. The momentum was there, we were playing good. It was not easy because they defended really well, inside it was so difficult. Marco prepared really well. It was not so quick because the pitch was so dry for both sides. In general it was a good performance, knowing the opponent and knowing where we came from."

On Julian Alvarez: "He made the penalty, not just the goal. Evey time he plays it's massive. Today the goal was extraordinary. We have incredible striker honestly."

On if it was a nervy performance: "It was quite similar to Nottingham Forest. There we had more chances than today. We had good moments, they didn't create much, we didn't create many opportunities. The result was tight and it was always open."

On going top of the table: "It's important but on Tuesday Arsenal will play. The important is the West Ham game, it's a game in hand. After that we'll be top of the table and it will be more real."

Spurs are all over the place! It's far too easy for Liverpool. Cody Gakpo is comfortably onside with a smart run in behind.

He pulls it back to Luis Diaz and he guides it first time into the corner at the near post on his return from injury.

    Eddie HoweImage source, Getty Images

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Sport: “A much better display in the second half, it was always going to be tough and we didn’t take Southampton for granted.

Asked about the impact of Callum Wilson: He was outstanding like he has been whenever he has played this season, but he’s a brilliant player to have in the squad and what an impact.

He’s always had the desire to score, it’s what he lives for, the team has got him in good areas and it’s his job to finish that off. I’ve managed him for a long time and its great to see him get the rewards his performances deserve.

Asked about the challenge of Arsenal next game: It’s a tough league with tough games to come, we’ll enjoy the momentum and the supporters helped us a lot, we look forwards to Arsenal.

I cannot understand how Klopp can drop Joel Matip after his midweek performance and reinstate Ibrahima Konate, who's been very below par in most of his performances this season. Madness!

  18. 'Stick with us and we can do this together'published at 16:31 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Bournemouth 4-1 Leeds

    Leeds United

Leeds striker Patrick Bamford, speaking to Sky Sports: "We're deflated. We knew we would have a big advantage if we came here and won. It is quiet in the dressing room but Luke Ayling said it, that we're not in the bottom three at the minute and we have four more games. We have to do what we have to do to pick up points from somewhere. When you are down there, mistakes seem to come more and more frequent. You get punished at this level. It is about sticking together.

"In general in the first half, we controlled it quite well apart from that four-minute spell. Two mistakes and we get punished. That is a running theme at the minute. We get back into it and knew we had to push on. But the third goal saw it off. We have to bounce back.

"In this run of games, where we have shipped a few goals, people are maybe a bit fragile. We have to find a way, as experienced players, of getting the group together. We have been through it, we know what we need to do, it is about dragging everyone with us.

"The fans have travelled a long way and they are hurting as much as we are. Well, maybe not as much as we are. But they have the right to voice an opinion. One thing I would say is to stick with us because we are going to need you. There are four games left and we need to do something. Stick with us and we can do it together."

    Kyle WalkerImage source, Getty Images

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker on BBC Radio 5 Live: "It is always going to be a tough game after the emotions of Wednesday [against Arsenal].

"I think the form is so important. It has been good over the recent couple of months but we have so much football to be played and this form needs to continue."

On recently being dropped: "I know what I can do. I've been around the block. When I signed at Tottenham there were seven right backs in front of me so I do like a challenge.

"If the manager doesn't think my performances are up to scratch then I shouldn't play because we're at a fantastic club and you know whoever comes in is going to perform. At other clubs it's probably 12 or 13 players but here everyone is so good."

On challenging for a treble: "This is what you live for as a footballer to be comepting at the higest level. I'm not even concentrating on the treble. It's just the next game and getting ready to face West Ham. We need to get another three pioints at the Etihad and then move on to Leeds."
