    Blackburn 1-0 Sheff Utd

It's calmed down somewhat in the past few minutes at Ewood Park.

Not really surprising given the frantic tempo of the opening half an hour.

Blackburn still lead, but Sheffield United pose a constant threat.

    Blackburn's gameplan is working well.

You would expect Sheffield United to come on to you, but it is their long throws that are causing the most danger.

    Blackburn 1-0 Sheff Utd

Chris Basham weaves his way into the Blackburn box as Sheffield United keep up the pressure.

He lets fly from close range but fortunately for the hosts, keeper Aynsley Pears collects his tame shot.

Then at the other end, Tyrhys Dolan lets fly from a swift flowing move and he hits the post.

    Great stuff.

Blackburn, as good as they do look with the ball right now, could do with calming this down a bit.

Sheffield United whip in a corner which Jack Robinson gets onto and Dominic Hyam tries to clear it away but forces Aynsley Pears into a diving save before it puts the ball into his own net.

You couldn't really get more contrasting pre-match preparation than Cardiff and Bristol City have had for this one.

The Bluebirds enjoyed that Championship rarity, a full week on the training pitch with no midweek game and the chance to rest up a little and work on their FPL wildcards.

Bristol City? Not so much. They had to endure playing a purring Manchester City in the FA Cup.

The result is that it has been a very quiet start to the game here in the Welsh capital.

It could be a case of low confidence versus low energy.

We also have an early kick-off in League One today, with promotion-chasing Bolton making the trip to relegation-threatened Morecambe.

It's currently goalless but the Shrimps' Farrend Rawson has recently headed over.

Joe Rankin-Costello whips in a ball into the Sheffield United box which Wes Foderingham is forced into dealing with.

Blackburn haven't had too much of the ball since their stunning opener, but they still look dangerous.

Boxer Joe Cordina was introduced pre-match at the Cardiff City Stadium.

He was booed by some of the travelling fans during his introduction. “Any message for the Bristol City fans?” he was asked.

“Yeah, you’re going to get smashed today,” came the reply.

Sheffield United strike back through Sander Berge's low drive from the edge of the Blackburn box.

But Aynsley Pears scoops it up. Good game, this.

This is just the first of two meetings between these two sides in just over two weeks.

Blackburn will take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on 19 March in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, in today's Championship fixture, Blackburn look in good shape. Jon Dahl Tomasson's really reinvigorated this side considering how out-of-form they looked over the festive period.

What a goal that is. It's a fantastic team goal, and what a finish from Harry Pickering.

When they broke there were three or four players beaking down the middle, Pickering has gone the length of the pitch to run outside Dolan and what a finish into the far corner.

    Harry Pickering (5 mins)

Absolutely stunning from Blackburn on the counter.

They work the ball straight from their own box and the Blades just can't deal with their pace.

Tyrhys Dolan puts in an absolute peach of a ball to tee up Harry Pickering who buries his shot past Wes Foderingham.

That is an absolutely outstanding counter-attacking goal.
