    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

    Fine chance for Middlesbrough.

Marcus Forss picks it up on the right and drives towards goal before letting fly with a skiddy low drive.

Karl Darlow's palms are big and wrists strong, and it's well-saved.

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:14 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Watford 1-0 Cardiff

Chance for the visitors at Vicarage Road.

Sory Kaba beats his defender and then the striker tries to lob Daniel Bachmann in the Watford goal, but the ball drops onto the roof of the net.

We had a brief stoppage in this game for Muslim players to break their Ramadan fast.

  3. Postpublished at 20:12 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Reading 0-0 Luton

There's been something of a delay at Luton as Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu went down and had treatment. He's back up though now and play has resumed.

It was also an ideal time for the pre-arranged stoppage for players observing Ramadan to break their fast.

Reading look dangerous out wide with Tyreese Fornah and Femi Azeez really hugging the touchline, but Luton have had the closest chance with Cauley Woodrow putting his effort wide.

    QPR 1-0 Norwich

An inswinging QPR free-kick by Kenneth Paal wide on the right goes through a number of bodies and comes back off an upright.

It got a touch almost on the line at the back post before Norwich scramble it clear. So close to a second for the struggling hosts!

That effort follows a couple of quick bookings for Norwich as both Andrew Omobamidele and Onel Hernandez get shown yellow.

Are the Canaries losing their cool as their play-off bid falters?

  5. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

After Chuba Akpom went down in the Hull box and Hayden Hackney rapped a shot wide, the visitors went down the other end and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh almost capitalises on Ryan Giles' dallying but the chance is denied.

    Good tempo at the Riverside.

    Swansea 1-0 Preston

Goalscorer Joel Piroe then comes close to doubling the hosts' lead, but is denied by a fine save by Preston keeper Freddie Woodman.

It's a fierce left-footed shot from inside the area which Woodman plams behind for a corner.

    Blackburn 0-0 Coventry

Coventry have regathered their mojo somewhat after the injury to Ben Sheaf who has been bandaged up like an Egyptian mummy.

When they step up and close down Rovers, they do get some joy - particularly further forward. But a loose pass wasn't taken full advantage of in the area and the home side clear.

    Swansea 1-0 Preston

Twenty minutes gone in South Wales, and Swansea are in the driving seat after taking the lead with 68 seconds on the clock.

Alvaro Fernandez, one of three men to come into the Preston XI tonight, has seen a shot deflected behind for a corner.

    The set-piece comes to nothing.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

There have been a few signs of Boro's attractive one-touch attacking threat.

Hayden Hackney received the ball just inside the left of the box after some pinball sharp football, and hammered a low shot which smacked the outside of the post and whizzed behind.

    Rocket.

    Reading 0-0 Luton

Brilliant start by Reading who have set off with real intent.

Femi Azeez swayed down the right before arrowing in a low cross, which zoomed through to Andy Carroll, but the big man couldn't keep his shot down.

    Luton were opened up there.

  11. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Watford 1-0 Cardiff

That's a 10th league goal of the season for Hornets winger Ismaila Sarr.

It's his fourth since returning from World Cup duty with Senegal, who were beaten by England in the last 16 in Qatar.

That match feels like a long, long time ago.

Mark Robins is stood in his technical area by the Coventry coaching benches and chewing his gum in a monotonously peeved way.

Ben Sheaf is also looking a bit glum, mainly because blood is trickling down his cheek from the corner of his eye after an enthusiastic tussle with Joe Rankin-Costello.

    Blackburn 0-0 Coventry

Coventry look rattled. They didn't cope well with a couple of set-pieces which were banged into the box by Rovers, and some of that early rhythm seems to have dissipated.

Another early goal for a home side.

Watford hit the front through a well-worked move.

Imran Louza lifts the ball to the back post on the right-hand side of the box and Keinan Davis heads it back across goal.

Ismaila Sarr is on hand to slide in between Cardiff defenders to send it into the net.

The Hornets need a win to keep their play-off hopes alive, but it's a big set-back for struggling Cardiff.

  16. goal

GOAL: QPR 1-0 Norwichpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Lyndon Dykes (9 mins)

Instead of falling behind early on, this time QPR have taken the lead!

Lyndon Dykes puts the R's ahead with his eighth club goal of the campaign.

Ilias Chair clips the ball into the box and Dykes controls well on his chest before showing composure to tuck home from just outside the six-yard box.

That's the first time QPR have gone in front in seven games.

The last time they scored the first goal, they beat Watford 1-0 on 11 March.

  17. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Blackburn 0-0 Coventry

    Best chance so far.

Blackburn winger Ryan Hedges wriggles into some space and curls in a left-foot cross from the right, and Sam Gallagher rises but can only plant his header straight at Ben Wilson in the Coventry goal.

  18. Boro back on course, but spoilers Hull awaitpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Middlesbrough v Hull (20:00 BST)

Any thoughts that Michael Carrick's magic had stopped working at Middlesbrough were convincingly quashed in Friday night's 5-1 thrashing of Norwich at the Riverside.

The Teessiders' mini-wobble took in defeats by a desperate Huddersfield and champions-elect Burnley, but a point at Bristol City and a gubbing of the Canaries has restored the mojo.

Enter Hull, who are doing a remarkable job of sticking a spanner in the works of the play-off crowd in recent weeks.

Trip to Sunderland? How's about a 98th-minute penalty equaliser to stun the bumper crowd. Millwall hit town? No problem, Adama Traore will curl in a wonder-goal to snuff them out. Trip to high-flying Blackburn? Get under their skin, get a point, get going.

Going to the Riverside is no easy task, but Liam Rosenior's men have a bit of belief in their bellies and while their season might be over in terms of ups and downs, they can still have a say in the promotion fight.

  19. Preston with work to dopublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 19 April 2023

    Swansea 1-0 Preston

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Russell Martin would acknowledge that Swansea's biggest problem this season has been a tendency to concede soft goals, yet they came into this one having kept four clean sheets in five matches.

They are attempting to keep that impressive run going tonight against a Preston side who are in play-off contention despite a lack of goals.

They are going to need at least two if they are to triumph tonight after Joel Piroe was given time and space to put Swansea in front with barely 60 seconds on the clock.

Preston were furious about the opener, after a decent shout for a foul by Ollie Cooper on Brad Potts was ignored by the officials and Swansea broke away to score.

Lively first couple of minutes which has seen Blackburn seeking to move the the ball through midfield, in the face of Coventry's enthusiastic press.

The visitors have been a little more direct in using Viktor Gyokeres as the outlet ball, and Ben Sheaf drove to the edge of the box before he tumbled and the ball was turned over.
