Pinball and somehow Benfica haven't scored.

Joao Mario puts in a low ball which bounces round and two or three times, with the goal gaping, an Inter player gets a block in to stop a Benfica player scoring.

Matthijs de Ligt's bullet header from a corner bounces off Nathan Ake's head - the Manchester City defender didn't know much about that one but it has prevented a certain Bayern goal.

A lively start to this half, Bayern have much more bite in attack but also look uneasy in defence.

I love how clever Haaland is. He's just realised Upamecano has had a stinker for the last two or three minutes and he's just standing on him.

No real reaction from Benfica to going behind. They have only lost twice all season.

No-one is getting close to Leroy Sane and only another fine Ederson save stops the former Manchester City forward from scoring as his drive from distance is batted away by the Brazilian.

Yann Sommer, a brilliant first-half save aside, has looked very nervous when on the ball and now it seems to be making his defence nervous as Bayern struggle to play out from the back.

What are they doing!?

Bayern Munich are almost the architects of their own downfall as Dayot Upamecano makes a mess of an attempted pass back to his goalkeeper. Jack Grealish is onto the loose ball and there's a panic in the box before Joshua Kimmich makes a huge block from Erling Haaland's shot.

Bayern just about got away with that one.

Of the eight quarter-finalists, Inter have scored the fewest goals in this season's Champions League. Six of their 11 goals were against Viktoria Plzen.

The visitors, however, keep up the attack as Leroy Sane finds some space on the edge of the box and hits another strong effort at goal but Ederson does well to stop it and then pounce on the loose ball.

Bayern Munich have failed to score in only one of their previous 40 games and they make a strong start to the second half as Leroy Sane hits another fierce effort from distance, but it is too close to Ederson.

No goals in one game, a Rodri stunner in the other. We are back under way in tonight's quarter-final first legs.

Nick: The movement of the Bayern attack is superb. However, the Man City back line have been even better. They haven’t been dragged out of position and have known exactly when to pass the man on and when to double up. This Man City defence look solid as a rock.

[Silva] got a real shove in the back and he went flying like a rag doll off the pitch. Everyone was fuming in the stadium and on the pitch. You can tell this is a team that means business because they were wildly offended by it and really put their foot down.

Thomas Tuchel is no slouch and I know he will be making changes to have a huge impact in the second half.

The visitors have had more possession - which doesn't happen often at the Etihad - but they have not yet managed to test Ederson in the Manchester City goal.

We've seen a lot of criticism of Ederson earlier in the season. I think they're just getting used to Jack dropping deeper to get possession and Ederson was expecting him be higher. That relationship is developing.
