Arsenal 2-0 Bayern Munich (Agg: 2-1)

The chances keep coming for Arsenal.

Foord again cuts in, and tees up Blackstenius with a low cross. The Swede shoots on the turn, just wide of the keeper's right hand post.

Maximiliane Rall is having a torrid night at right back for Bayern, Foord seems to be able to pass her at will.

Bayern aren't out of this, remember they're one goal from levelling this tie.

Klara Buhl does well to cut in from the left, she feeds Franziska Kett on the edge of the area however she fires wide.

That's the closest the Germans have come so far.

This is extremely comfortable for Arsenal.

It looks like the Arsenal team that have just carried on from the north London derby where they convincingly beat Tottenham.

This first 25 minutes has been exceptional from them.

  5. CLOSE!published at 32 mins

Arsenal 2-0 Bayern Munich (Agg: 2-1)

    Should be 3-0!

Foord clips in a perfect right footed cross from the left, Williamson times her run well but can only steer her header over from around four yards out.

Arsenal will hope they don't regret that later.

Is it too much of a stretch to say that the Little injury has boosted Arsenal here?

The righteous fury after losing their captain seems to have supercharged Arsenal in the last 20 minutes.

It’s fantastic and it’s fully deserved. It’s been coming.

That is a pinpoint cross from Katie McCabe. She is picking Stina Blackstenius out.

She is not missing from there.

Bayern are all over the place at the back.

I was at Kingsmeadow when Arsenal were dumped out of the FA Cup by Chelsea. They looked flat and uninspired - the total opposite of what we have seen tonight.

Credit to players and manager for the turnaround in performance we have seen in the past month.

This feels electric. Arsenal's intensity has blown Bayern away and the fans are giving off so much energy. That's the first job done - to take the lead in the tie. Now, will that change Arsenal's approach or will they keep putting pressure on this clearly shaken Bayern side and finish them off?

    Turnaround!

Katie McCabe cuts a cross in from the left touchline, and Blackstenius powers in a header from six yards.

Arsenal now lead on aggregate, and based on their display so far tonight it is richly earned.

Arsenal look up for this and Bayern are shaken. Every tackle, every foul and every press is being roared and applauded by the home fans.

Bayern have been really poor. They are playing into Arsenal’s trap.

They are playing short possession football in their own half and they don’t have an outlet up top.

Goodness me, Bayern are all over the place!

A poor back pass almost lets Pelova in, Grohs has to be sharp to rush out and slide tackle the ball away from the Arsenal forward.

That is a goal of the season. It was great play.

A really good lay-off by Leah Williamson.

A first time hit, absolutely top corner. Maria Grohs had no chance.

We’ve seen Frida Maanum do that time and time again but what a moment for her and her team.

Arsenal could not have asked for a better goal, not only in terms of quality but also for something to lift the crowd.

The wind is definitely with the English side.

    WOW.

    What. A. Goal.

Frida Maanum absolutely loves a screamer and so do these fans. Everyone is on their feet!

    Even Jonas Eidevall was applauding.

Everything about that goal was pure entertainment. The touch from Stina Blackstenius, the flick back from Leah Williamson and the stunning finish from Maanum.

    Wow, wow, wow.

    WHAT A STRIKE!

Arsenal press Bayern high and win the ball back 30 yards out. It's played to Stina Blackstenius, who flicks to Williamson and the captain lays it to Maanum with a clever heel.

With barely any backlift, Maanum slams it into the top corner from 20 yards. Grohs could have been wearing rocket boots and she wouldn't have got there.

    Sensational.

Arsenal continue to make most of the running here.

They are putting in plenty of crosses, and Bayern keeper Maria Grohs has looked rather shaky with a couple of unconvincing punches.

Clearly something Arsenal are looking to exploit tonight.

Kim Little read the situation well, driving onto the ball.

Sarah Zadrazil slid in from a long way, she makes no contact with the ball and catches Kim Little.

That is sad to see the referee saying 'Get up, get up' and then the player has to be substituted off.
