Manchester United have lost just once at Leigh Sports Village this season - to Chelsea in the league.

Will their home advantage help today? It doesn't seem to have done so yet.

    Man Utd 0-1 Brighton

Alessia Russo chases a loose ball on the left-hand side but is shepherded away by Zoe Morse. That's been the story of the half so far - Brighton are doing everything to keep United at bay.

  4. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 Brighton

Argh! Lucia Garcia has an outstanding run, weaving through three defenders, but her eventual shot just isn't powerful enough and Lydia Williams comfortably catches.

  5. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 Brighton

Manchester United look for an immediate equaliser and Alessia Russo comes close.

She spins the ball just over the bar after am Ella Toone delivery. She'll be happy that the whistle had already been blown for a foul.

There is a pocket of about 15 Brighton fans behind Mary Earps' goal, and they were in raptures by that goal - blue and white flags flying everywhere.

Lots of work to do for Marc Skinner's side.

    Mary Earps OG (36 mins)

    Remarkable!

Bottom-of-the-table Brighton are ahead. Veatriki Sarri races down the right, sends a shot towards Mary Earps and it goes in after a deflection off the keeper's hand.

That may go down as an own goal.

Lucia Garcia has been here, there and everywhere for United so far. She's the one player in red playing at full power so far - her team mates still aren't quite up to speed.

They're showing that Lydia Williams save once again on BBC Two and it just gets better every time you see it.

Life can change very quickly for goalkeepers.

    How!

Lydia Williams nearly makes an awful error. Lucia Garcia finds Leah Galton at the far post and the ball trickles along the goal-line with the keeper rooted to the spot. That was so close.

    What a save!

Lydia Williams is called into action for the first time this afternoon and that is top-draw.

Alessia Russo spins in the middle after the ball is chested down by Lucia Garcia and she reacts superbly well to tip the ball over the crossbar. Spectacular reactions.

  13. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Brighton

Lucia Garcia looks to be in a bit of pain after a strong tackle by Brighton's Poppy Pattinson but is fit to carry on playing.

Katie Robinson is through out wide once again but Millie Turner is equal to her in the middle of the park.

Robinson has been one of this game's brightest sparks.

There was a good noise from the approximately two-thirds full Leigh Sports Village at the start of this game - it has been slightly quietened after a quarter of this game.

Brighton are defending well and look good on the counter. Certainly they don't look like a side bottom of the league.

Manchester United break as Libby Vance spills the ball towards Lucia Garcia, but once again the hosts can't properly link up in the final third.

United still can't really find their forwards. Brighton are trying their hardest to make something of the game and committing bodies forwards but haven't been able to make much of an impression yet.

A fairly reserved start by Manchester United so far, happy to keep possession and be patient as they look to break down the two Brighton banks of four.

They'd do well to find Lucia Garcia more regularly, the Spaniard has made a few clever off the ball runs without service so far.

Lucia Garcia and Ella Toone link up for Manchester United going forwards but the Spaniard's final touch is just too heavy and the ball is collected by the Brighton defence.
