  1. 'We have to hunt anyone in our way'published at 16:50 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

Man Utd v Brighton (17:15 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner, speaking in his pre-match press conference: "We are not at the final and cannot think of anything but a very difficult game against a new manager.

"The mentality from my players has to be to hunt any team that stands in the way of our success from now until the end of the season.

"We've learned from last season, where we hit stumbling blocks but did not have the mental resolve to overcome them, or even the ability to change the game like we can this year, where we can inject some width, pace and trickery."

Man Utd v Brighton (17:15 BST)

Manchester United are making up for lost time.

Their senior women's team was only reformed in the 2018-19 season but they've already reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup and currently top the Women's Super League.

Can they go one step further today and claim a spot in their first cup final?

Man Utd v Brighton (17:15 BST)

It's a big one for Manchester United's Maya Le Tissier this evening.

The 20-year-old joined the Reds from Brighton in the summer and has been in fine form ever since.

She spoke to Football Focus about her experience with United so far and why the club hope they can "win everything". Quite the statement.

Let's shine the spotlight on the hosts for a little bit. It's the first time they've been in an FA Cup semi-final - and it's been a huge season for the Reds.

More than an hour before kick off, and these were the scenes outside Leigh Sports Village - snaking queues of fans waiting to get in. Great to see.

The hosts have sold around 4,200 tickets today, so we are expecting a good crowd.

Man Utd v Brighton (17:15 BST)

You don't have to go back far to find the last time these two played.

In the final game for both of these sides before the international break, United won 4-0 away at Brighton to go back to the top of the table.

The visitors will be hoping they don't suffer the same fate this evening.

Man Utd v Brighton (17:15 BST)

Victory today guarantees a spot in next month's Women's FA Cup final, which takes place at Wembley Stadium on 14 May.

The opponent will be decided tomorrow when four-time winners Chelsea take on Aston Villa.

Man Utd v Brighton (17:15 BST)

Neither of these two have reached the final of the Women's FA Cup in their history.

In their former guise as Brighton GPO, the Seagulls once reached the semis in the 1975-76 season. United have never reached this round of the FA Cup before, though have been in the final four of the last four League Cups.

  9. Team news - Garcia replaces Risa, Terland in for Connollypublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

Just the one change for Manchester United from their last game before the international break - which coincidentally came against Brighton.

Lucia Garcia replaces Vilde Boe Risa from the side which won 4-0 at Broadfield Stadium in the WSL.

Nikita Parris, who has scored in all of United's FA Cup matches this season so far, is on the bench.

Manchester United XI: Earps; Batlle, Le Tissier, Turner, Blundell; Zelem, Ladd; Toone, Garcia, Galton; Russo

Subs: Baggaley, Mannion, Riviere, Tounkara, Boe Risa, Cascarino, Parris, Thomas, Williams.

New Brighton manager Mel Phillips makes just one change from that defeat, but it looks like a change of shape too.

Striker Elisabeth Terland comes in for midfielder Megan Connolly, and it looks like she will partner Lee Geum-min up front in a 4-4-2.

Brighton XI: Williams; Fox, Kullberg, Morse, Pattinson; Sarri, Olme, Bance, Robinson; Lee, Terland

Subs: Walsh, Green, Williams, Stott, Visalli, Park, Connolly, Stefvanovic, Carter
