  1. Will Celtic stop super Caley going ballistic?published at 16:39 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

That concludes our coverage of this weekend's Scottish football and the two cup semi-finals.

Celtic are through to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle back at Hampden on 3 June.

It will rekindle memories of 2000, when Celtic suffered a shock 3-1 Scottish Cup defeat by the then part-time first division side. The Highlanders have bruised their more illustrious opponents since then too.

Will Super Caley Go Ballistic once more? Celtic certainly show no signs this season of being as atrocious as they were then.

  2. Postecoglou hails 'immense' Carter-Vickers & Starfeltpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

A delighted Ange Postecoglou is full of his praise for his Celtic side.

"It's a semi-final, there's a big prize at the end, so we knew it wouldn't be easy," he tells BBC Scotland. "Dare I say it, we never stop. We're always alert. We force the opposition into mistakes.

"The progress we've made has been immense. It's credit to everyone involved."

On central defenders Cameron-Carter Vickers and Carl Starfelt, he adds: "They've been good for a very long time. Both those guys have been immense and have grown.

"That's Cam's last game of the season. He'll go and get his injury looked at. We've got to be mindful of his recovery for next season. He was really keen to play this game. I'm scared of him so I wasn't going to say no."

On right-back Alastair Johnston's injury, Postecoglou adds: "It's a sore one for him to come off."

  3. Premiership finale still to comepublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Of course, while our pundits have suggested that Rangers' season is effectively over, there are still five rounds of Premiership fixtures to come.

Michael Beale's side just can't end it with any silverware.

Celtic can wrap up the title officially away to Heart of Midlothian next weekend and we'll be covering those crucial games at both ends of the table here on BBC Radio Scotland and online.

  6. 'This is going to sting for a few days' - Bealepublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

As mentioned, Michael Beale is in no mood to take any positives from today's game at this stage.

"We have to find a way to win," he tells BBC Scotland. "We shot ourselves in the foot again. We kept Allan [McGregor] pretty much safe the whole game.

"We've made a big mistake in a huge game. It's a repeat of what's happened. Right now, it's massive disappointment. When our opportunities came, we weren't able to take them.

"For our fans, this season has been horrible for them to live through. The distance between us and our biggest rivals is slim on individual days, but over the course of the season, it'll count to two or three trophies to zero.

"Moving forward, that's not going to be good enough. There's going to be change in the summer. We need to improve. This is going to sting for a few days."

  7. 'Horrible season' - Bealepublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Michael Beale is telling BBC Scotland that "there's not much to take away" from today's defeat after "a horrible season" and a semi-final in which they "shot ourselves in the foot again".

More of that to come shortly...

  9. 'We've not been good enough' - Bealepublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Micheal Beale insists the difference between the sides on the day "is not huge" and thought his side had worked Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart.

"We had as many chances as we probably wanted today and it comes down to us switching off in the moment," Rangers' manager tells Viaplay. "In their box, Joe made good saves, we missed on the rebound too.

"We played well in the game, we were in the game the whole time, so we're disappointed to not get a result as I thought we performed well enough to get one.

"Today is a lot of what ifs.

"Over the season, we've not been good enough. We've fallen short in winning silverware for our fans and the club.

"We played well in the game, we were in the game the whole time. We don't want to feel like this this time next season."

If Beale could get a focal point up top, it would change his fortunes. Morelos was non-existent again. They've got to have better options than him.

  12. Postecoglou demands more improvementpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

A "super proud" Ange Postecoglou has heaped praise on his "incredible" Celtic side.

"These things you have to earn," the manager tells Viaplay. "It's not just rolling up and hoping it happens.

"Rangers put in everything to try and stop us. The boys were brilliant in attack when they needed to - and defend when needed to.

"You have to enjoy it when it's hard earned. We've given ourselves the chance to do something special."

Postecoglou notes that it was fine margins that separated the sides in last season's semi-final, but the strides his side have made have been evident. "It's not just about the football and individuals, but collectively, they take hold of games and have that resilience - that's the growth of this side," he says.

"We're not a top team yet. We've still a bit to do, but you have to embrace every aspect of the game to be one of those sides and we're doing that."

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Celtic captain Callum McGregor has spoken of his pride at leading Celtic to another final.

"Celtic are a club where you have to win season on season, final on final," he tells Viaplay. "It's relentless and we've managed to instil it into the group.

"The club demands success. Everyone is on the money everyday, there is no off day.

"It's no surprise that when we come to these games, that we're ready."

I was interested to see how Ryan Kent would do against Alistair Johnston today, but Johnston had his number again. Kent's mental strength looked really low. And with Alfredo Morelos, he's done a great job for Rangers but he's gone missing this season.

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Goalscorer Jota says he knows where he needs to be in the moments where goals present themselves and, luckily, he was there today.

"We knew it was going to be tough game," the Portuguese winger tells Viaplay. "We were prepared and we put in a good shift.

"In these big games, we always come and show the best version of ourselves and we done so again today."

On the defensive showing from his team-mates, the winger adds: "Sometimes people only look at the scoresheet, but the guys at the back have been tremendous, nobody sees the sacrifices they make."

And whether or not Celtic are looking forward to the treble now, he quickly quips a simple, "no" with a smile, and insists it's all about the next game.

  19. Small comfort for Rangerspublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

    FT: Rangers 0-1 Celtic

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

Nothing that happened today surprised me. When Celtic play well, they have Rangers' number. When Celtic don't play well, they still beat them. This game today was Rangers' season, but if you are taking comfort from an improved second-half, you are in a pretty grim place.
